Maybe they’ll have taken a leaf out of JT’s book and gone back through all routes and units to make the toilets fully accessible.
I'm hoping it might be BPO not crashing via TSW5. Matt did say "Temper you're expectations" Probably something with VR- like a driverless steam powered monorail.
Chaos mode & rating. 0% - AI runs perfectly and you're the only one who can mess things up. 100% - don't be surprised if you end up two hours late! I'm no software programmer but I wouldn't be surprised if it would require a core update so unlikely, but one day....
A single loco would be about right for a PR reveal. It you're expecting a whole new route or something I'd say lower those expectations. If I'm right you won't be as disappointed. If I'm wrong you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Only if you have higher expectations that are unlike anything DTG has ever done in the past. Which a lot of people apparently do....
But as he said...is any small gain worth the huge investment of basically redoing the whole game? It appears they have already made the decision that it's not worth the effort for minimal gain as great cost. Maybe UE 7... ;-)
Ya know... it sounds simple but in some other games I've noticed that the environmental elements and NPC "chatter" can often be immersive. Not to interact with per se, or even something like announcements that depend on connecting to timetables, etc (sounds like a huge hassle that would break whenever you changed the timetables/layers/etc) No, I mean people just talking to one another. We already have the NPCs wander around platforms, look at phones, read the paper, etc. Just two people having a short conversation or asking "when will the bloody train show up?" It gives life to a very quiet concourse. Now to be clear I don't NEED this at all. It would be a rather large undertaking with a lot of questions to be answered. (who does the "talking?" The NPCs that are mobile or only stationary ones? Do you have some reused on differeent stations? I'd guess "where is the train?" is pretty common across all train riders) Then there's the vocalization localization for every language in the game supported..... So I can see why they don't do it. Just something I've noticed in other games. Wasn't it only a year ago that they actually introduced NPCs that move around and get on trains and that was a huge improvement?
The Clinchfield redo! Duh.... forgot all about that getting worked on. That's something that would be exciting and appeal to a specific group that's been loudly vocal and something personally important to a certain DTG staff member. ;-)
This 'reveal season' was never going to be more than different roadmap announcements/updates stretched out over three weeks (instead of one stream). What were you expecting?
Someone earlier said that this announcement is something that DTG Matt has wanted to announce for a while. So I'm gonna throw in that we might finally get to see the GEML Felixstowe/Ipswich to London Liverpool Street, which would nicely join up the freight corridors for UK routes that have come out recently. Set at the turn of the millennium or early 2010's. Class 90s and MK3's, Class 321's and Class 360's (all liveries from this period available out of license agreements). Would go well with the new Freightliner Green license with the 86's and 90's and then maybe a GBRf license announcement to really top of the announcement.
Emmm... I'm like talking about AI trains need to start using horns and bells in proper places. And you are talking about NPC conversation. You blow my mind a little bit. In my imagination there is need to be some kind of a markers placed on tracks for AI trains, which will trigger the sound of the horn from AI trains. And exclusively to the US, a script that will turn on the bell on AI trains when they arrive at a station and when they depart from a station.
It could happen. I don't think it would count as "super exciting." More of a QOL update for TSW 6 like track shadow improvements.
People do get excited for a slightly different EMU with a headlight changed so.... you're not wrong. That does count as "exciting" to some people.
Fully agree, make no two runs the same potentially. Far too many green light runs which are not as it is in real world.
my ideas route extesions mutiplayer new subscrition based gameplay like tsc imptovments to creavtie tools
Adding that Stratford will be coming to the game in the Mildmay line this seems a good shout. Or wishful thinking…
Another one for the bingo board - Survival Mode. Matt has probably been playing Trans Siberian so before starting a run in TSW you have to stock up on refreshments or you pass out from hunger (no beer or vodka though due to the PEGI rating). On rural routes the train will get stopped by a wolf on the track and you need to go one on one with the axe from the emergency tool kit. Or your loco fails in the middle of nowhere and you need to get underneath or in the engine compartment and fix it!
Working BR restaurant cars would seem like enough Survival Mode to me, doesn't need wolves? I haven't played Trans Siberian yet, watched a couple of videos on it. Matt.
It’s an acquired taste, having refunded it twice I’m now having one more go but just starting out in simulation mode. The process for going through a neutral section is way more complicated than anything we have in TSW can damage the loco.
to include everyone maybe something american like idk Brightline I see come by a lot being suggested and a Railjet too then. instead of rush hour make it an express service special. Just one loco or route for one country doesn't sound logical though
I am expecting nothing but disappointment from this big reveal. Every time we get a "big reveal" 9 times out of 10 it is a port to another storefront or a rerelease of the game.
I must admit the more I think about it the more I am expecting to be disappointed. On a positive note for you mate, at least there won't be much change for you as you must be expecting disappointment every week at the minute!
That’s my outside bet…GEML would be awesome and if you like a theory other routes - GOBLIN, SEHS to name two are routes that Matt has lived on/by! Not long to wait now tho…
Don't get me excited man.... XD If they do decide to release the GEML I hope it is with either the 86 or 90 along with a rake of MK3s (maybe modified from the recent JT release or whatever works) and a MK3 DVT, supplemented by the Class 321 (I especially want this as it could easily supplement onto the WCML:South - would be pretty cool as since we already know we are getting the 86 and if we get both the MK3 DVT, the 321 and maybe even the 90 it would be possible to create WCML:South in the 90s!!!!)
Core features should only come with a new TSW version number in my honest opinion. Same with upgrades to the Unreal Engine.
