Great to have the new timetable the route feels much more busier enjoying it so far where as before it was unplayable as it was so quiet
Looking forward to giving this a go. The route was always solid enough but just had a bit of an unremarkable timetable.
The 385 sounds are annoying me tbh - hearing the brake release from so far away feels un-prototypical
Didn't cross my mind tbh - and didn't think it would be possible with it being the primary loco. Probably on balance the reduction of traffic that would occur when removing the 385 means it's best to keep it on. I don't own the 380 yet which would add some more traffic I suppose
I drove a 380 service from eastfield depot to queen street, then drove to edinburgh, its an awesome train, miles better than the 385 to drive.
It looks quite cool from the outside, but the thing is I don’t really like reduced view trains (so basically most things with a gangway on the front). E2G was of interest though because of Waverley, and a sale tbf.
I like the new timetable although would have preferred not to have the 158's running Glasgow to Edinburgh services. Not so worried about the 380 as I like driving them. I don't mind the 385, the sounds on trainsim community which are very good still seem to work even though they were released for TSW4. Really the 158 should be on FCL as was intended and where it is at home.
Had a go in this last night and it’s been brought so much more to life. Appreciate some aren’t keen on having the 158 in, but I’m so glad it is in there as an alternative proper express to use and bypass the 385… but then also great to have the other layers in for the added variety; much prefer it like it is now and a real reason to keep playing. Looking forward to the timetable update for FCL, Skyhook have done a great overhaul of E-G
Well that's strange as I've never spent more than £750 on a computer and I actually use it for other things!
I paid £700 just for a used RTX3080 graphics card... and that's before the CPU. RAM, PSU, Motherboard and case. You either have a toaster of a PC, or I'm shopping at the wrong places.
I also went for a rather expensive PC build, but still opt to play TSW on the PS5. Having played on both platforms, they both have individual issues & whilst there are very good mods for TSW, they aren’t transforming to the point that it fixes said issues. To come back on topic though, this timetable is great & I think it showcases what Skyhook can & should be bringing to TSW. It’s fair to say Rivet won’t be making changes needed to E2G to get into a more ‘respectable’ state, but what Skyhook have done is give us a great way of using nearly all of the Scotrail Fleet. A place to use the 380 on some mainline runs was badly needed, it’s a great train & worlds apart from the 385 experience. Ditto for the 158.
It did have £250 knocked off it for the Black Friday sale so it might be slightly disingenuous to call it a £750 PC. I wouldn't pay any more than that anyway. My current one which was built by a local small PC shop cost £600 plus my existing graphics card. My new one is coming tomorrow so I'll see if it is any good soon
Well, good luck with the new PC and I hope it runs TSW and everything else well for you. Yep, the 380 is fantastic on Cathcart, but even better when you can get it over 50mph.
In the unlikely chance Rivet comes back to this route I’d like them to at least change the ballast to match Cathcart's as right now it’s a horrible pinky brown colour that brings down the whole route
in fairness, there’s a huge amount of pink ballast on Scotland’s Railway. Cloburn Quarry in South Lanarkshire are a major supplier and it’s all red granite. On routes with a lot of renewals and hot weather precautions (the E&G being one, Cathcart not so much), this means they will probably have a pink hue in large parts!
I wonder as ATS are now a developer within TSW, if they would share the sounds from their TSC Alloa route for the 385 with Rivet? Anything is better then what we have at the moment... The 385 is a decent model, it's just the sound that let it down... It'd certainly add the icing on the cake and make the 385 enjoyable.
- Blurry Textures again after a bit of playing on series X. - Route hopping does not work between new timetables Cathcart/Edinburgh Glasgow and vice versa. Route hopping from Cathcart to Edinburgh Glasgow does not even work at all.
I’ve noticed and brought this issue up before too. It isn’t just Edinburgh Glasgow that has this issue either, it seems to be any route that has a timetable other than the default installed. Hopefully this can be fixed because I would like to route hop between E2G and Cathcart, but I don’t want to have to use the default Cathcart timetable, or the default E2G timetable.
