I was really looking forward to the "Added Auto-announcer feature"! Where is it ? Just played two services with the CL 158. There was ONE Announcement at the beginning of each service. And even that was incomplete. Instead of "Calling at..." all the stops, the lady only mentioned the very next stop. Looks like I have to craft my own set of announcements for that line too... EDIT: Just played a different service, also only an announcement at the beginning, but some "Calling at" were omitted...
Not only that but the PIS in the train are telling me I am in Dunblane when I'm actually in Edinburgh and whilst in Polmont the screen is telling me I'm in Edinburgh
It's a message on the TSW Steam page "Train Sim World 5 Game Update - December 17th" under "Full Changelog/Scotsrail Class 158"
Yeah, it shows there but others are reporting non-functional, and I've found this too. Also wasn't on the patch list here - https://skyhookgames.com/tsw-5-scotrail-158-winter-2024-update-patch-notes/ DTG made some errors in the patch notes, such as stating suspension and emissions were included - wondering if this was an error too.
I did a guard mode on the 158 on PS5 and didn't hear any announcements. Is this meant to be platform announcements or on the train? Do you have to switch a setting on?
No settings to switch on - on train announcements - appears they aren't working. Hopefully LucaZone can clarify whether they were intended to be in the update, or just an error from dtg in the patch notes
It seems like it was all just an error in the patch notes on the part of dtg and some items are not included in today's update
Hello folks - just checking on this, we worked with Skyhook to confirm our amended notes, but it seems this may have likely been another change we'll need to omit if it was incorrectly included on the original change list. Thanks DTG Alex - if in error, which feels likely at this point as it wasn’t mentioned on the article on skyhooks website, I do hope it comes! Auto announcer is so cool on the 170, and would love to see it come to other locos.
If possible, can I confirm the platforms you're using TrackingTrains / pedro#1852 (or others in the thread that have not heard the announcements on since updating the patch).
PC Player - Steam Heard one announcement at the start of service, then nothing else. Return working - nothing.
Hiya, Thanks for the feedback. We're really excited everyone is enjoying the updated Class 158. I can confirm auto announcer functionality similar to the Class 170 has been implemented into the Class 158. Thank you to Rivet Games for permitting this and assisting with its implementation. It is targeted at the Fife Circle Line route and the associated Sprinter Timetable still in production. We do have it successfully working on FCL during testing as well as with the community timetable mod by user Fawx. We would love to see the functionality come to the Edinburgh to Glasgow route and will continue to work with Rivet Games on this possibility.
