Indeed, so it was dropped, and that was a long time ago. The code has likely not been added to/maintained in a way that enables multiplayer, because why do so if it’s not a requirement? And how do you know if it’s working unless you regularly test it? Would be amazed if multiplayer were retrofitted after all these years. Acknowledged, but things can change, and I was hypothesising about what kind of route could be worthy of a ‘big reveal’. Agree it’s not likely, though - it’s still too long a route.
Maybe it will be something akin to ‘Make a Route’, a creator / console editor that allows us to build routes using pre-cast track pieces, adding signals, infrastructure and basic terrain editing. Essentially like the ‘railroad’ suggestions mentioned already, but without it being explicitly miniature. After all, the PC Editor tools have led to several community projects being adopted by DTG or getting selected to become genuine add-ons. Imagine it. Instead of complaining about our favourite niche area being overlooked for the 19th time.. we are given the tools (in some capacity) to make it ourselves, and via a menu and format that simplifies it. I would spend hours building routes!
UHU from Germany sticks together: Will we perhaps see a revision and merging of the Rhein-Ruhr main line and Cologne-Aachen including an extension between Duisburg and Cologne via Düsseldorf? That would be something and would cover almost all of North Rhine-Westphalia (the most populous federal state in Germany). The new vehicle is the RRX (BR 462) oder finally the 420 (which had been announced for so long). Yes, I would celebrate that. Oh yes, UHU comes from Baden-Württemberg. So maybe "next stop BaWü"? However, it would be more realistic and this was also mentioned in the last surveys: - Introduction of announcements - Addition of trainspotting people on the side of the track
My guess is something involving these lovelies. So GEML or, more likely, a backdated WCML South with 86s, 87s, 313s and the above.
HU is the city license plate for cars of Hanau. https://www.adac.de/rund-ums-fahrze...en/kfz-zulassung/kfz-kennzeichen-deutschland/ U could be "underground". Perhaps finally an added S-Bahn tunnel from Frankfurt Main Station (underground) to Hanau?
That would be so good. Any reason why you think they? My hunch is still LTS or GEML. Would love those two trains to appear.
One of the earliest guesses in this thread and would be the simplest for DTG to offer early next year.
There was a teaser in the last year where someone found the blueprint/drawings for the Eurostar (I think). If it were to come I'd expect it to be on a route within mainland Europe, perhaps Lille to Brussels which would be a 35-40 min run. Can't see them doing the tunnel part as that would be incredibly boring in reality.
I would like the reveal of a big overdue maintainance program where some well known bugs in old routes are fixed. For example the bugged scenarios in RT and Vorarlberg. If only just the quick wins. That would add a lot of value for me.
People are still posting route and train specific ideas. Still maintain a “big” reveal unlikely to be anything content specific and it’s a bit late to release anything Christmas related. Happy to be proved wrong of course and will eat my Santa hat. Ah, one late suggestion thinking on the above. The forum emoticons are going to get festive hats and snow. That is all.
I feel like both lines could appear in TSW at some point in the next few years. I suspect that DTG's sweet spot commercially in the UK is modern commuter lines with an express train element (in the case of GEML and as we've seen in WCML South). I think we'll see parts of the South Western Main Line, GEML C2C and Great Northern up to Peterborough by the time we're at TSW8. I think all candidates are strong ones and had they not both been added as Suggestions several times over already I would put together a detailed proposal for all of them.
Personally routing more for random timetable events. It would just make TSW considerably more playable and I'm already now using tsw5 more than TSC and starting to thin-out the latter's content.
Only three hours to go! I'm still guessing it's a core feature - one they've worked on for a while. I'd also guess that they're announcing it now, but releasing it as part of TSW6. Multiplayer? I'd love being able to play co-op driver and guard with a friend, but it probably won't happen. Creation of a 'Remaster Crew'? Arguably the best possible thing, but again, unlikely. Maybe the public editor comes to console? Could work... Maybe it's the ability to share editor creations. Oh it's all very exciting! I love looking forward to things.
toilets coming to TSW5. you just need to buy an extra device that imitates the smells for them to unlock
The ECML's finally getting the extension to Stevenage everyone's been crying out for Mind you, it'd give the lovely 700s something else to do.
TSC still teeters on being uninstalled or seriously triaged here. Only the steam traction and some of the routes really keep it hanging on. It’s 400Gb of HD space which at this point I can probably use more productively.
I'm hoping for something to increase playability, like random events (AI delays, temp speed restrictions etc) or multiplayer in some form. I doubt it will be though.
I did say this on another thread, could be a bit of a stretch though, but maybe it could be an entire network, such as London Underground where all lines would be added and all trains, but like I said , probably a stretch and would take up way to much storage…
But I’ve also seen people say things such as the ECML extension from KX to Peterborough with the implementation on the class 91, now that would be nice, or even the comeback of steam. I guess we just have to wait and see!
Surely not, that was already announced yesterday. Nothing is impossible, but that'd be ridiculous. It's a nice gift, albeit not my preferred gameplay, but they can't announce it again given they have already announced it.
Very much doubt its the entire London underground - that would be miles and miles across all the lines. KGX to PBO and a 91 would make my year
Doubt that would be it specifically, though I do wonder if maybe it's being made free because it in some way ties into the announcement. I could see them announcing a new route that makes use of the UP locos from it, there's quite a few routes UP & BNSF share after all. Going more out there maybe they're producing a DLC for it, there's a lot of diesels they could pull off, both present and past. There's also the elephant in the room of the UP Steam Program locos, granted a lot of people would be skeptical of DTG themselves tackling them, myself included. But to play devil's advocate they're also some of the only ones that have enough of a draw to warrant further steam development.
Agree with all the comments about the 91. An ECML transition Timetable with HSTs too and a modern Timetable with the 91s in that splendid new retro livery. It would be a big upgrade for the existing route. An extension to York or from Peterborough to KX would be brilliant but I think that'll be a big autumn release rather than something that's coming soon in the reveal.
I've removed all non UK routes from TSC now. I plan to rebuild it from scratch next year and just have the modern releases plus any older stuff that the new routes/traction depend upon. I hit 1 TB recently and the plan is to get it down to 500gb.
Maybe it is just me but I would definitely not enjoy driving in a tunnel for 50 klicks. Same issue as with the part from St Pancras to Dagenham. Seeing the Eurostar trains on HS1 in SEHS (driveable to Ashford and as AI) would be nice, though.
Pretty sure I saw someone mention they did the tunnel in MSTS. Everyone played it once and then never touched it. It's 35 minutes of looking at a black screen.
I think Matt talked about it on one the charity streams suggesting ideas like maybe after you've entered the tunnel you do cut scene or loading transition and then come out of the tunnel to avoid that boredom. It's a tricky one as whatever you do will be divisive.
Seems oddly specific that Sherman Hill goes free at precisely the same time as the reveal. Got to be related in some way.
One thing to note, Smokebox, the guy who made most of the UP steam DLC's on TSC, has been very quiet about his UP switcher work for it, taking alot longer than what it took the Challenger or Big Boy to do..... Maybe its because he got asked by DTG to port one of his locos to TSW?
Despite my adamancy it’s not content related, I suppose it could be either the Big Boy or the GTEL gas turbine.
If the clue means joining together could it be London commuter and east coast way remastered, joined and lewes to wievelsfield added?
Misleading you lot is a lot of fun, even when I explicitly say things to not mislead you Imagine if I just let loose and went crazy? Now, that'd make me a really big boy. Matt.
If I were thinking about developing this route I would do London - Lille part. There is already a part of HS1, so DTG would need to model the line from Ashford to Dover and Calais to Lille, and as someone said before the tunnel would be fairly easy to model
