    Excellent idea by the way you should make the new D set as the DLC Train here. FYI DKM are the 1989 builds. I went on one DKM 8143

    Presumably the OP has not read the comment elsewhere from the Executive Producer, that all approaches to Australian train and infrastructure operators for licensing and research access have been firmly rebutted. So no Aussie routes happening any time soon if ever.

    If you want Oz, then it's either the old MSTS stuff under Open Rails like Coals To Newcastle (though the site hosting that is gone) or N3V Trainz.

    Would definitely like to have Australia in game but as oldvern has stated dtg has not had much luck in getting any licensing. You also have the issue that Australia is on the other side of the world so even if they were to get licensing they would also have to bear the cost of flying a team out here (which is not cheap) and they would want to do that as few times as possible, so they would want to do as many operators as they could in one hit.

    Best chances we would have getting Australia in game would be;

    DTG does a debranded train/s and the sounds would likely have to come from locos near Dtg that had similar or the same equipment or from American units that have the same equipment.

    A 3rd party such as Union Workshop (I believe this is the closest one that would be likely to do it as they have previously done routes in Japan and China in TSC and are currently doing a Japanese route for TSW) this too would likely be debranded and sounds are more likely to be not similar to the real thing.

    I would also be curious to know if the operators would be more willing to give dtg a licence if the route would be set far enough back in time to were the operation of the equipment set then would not work on current-day equipment.

    At this point, I would be willing to accept a debranded Australian route if that is what it takes. I am not keeping up my hopes for an Australian route as we never had one for TSC.

    Other option could be a heritage line like Puffing Billy, but that would require DTG to dust off steam traction. That would be a good one though, IIRC isn't that the run where they allow passengers to sit hanging their legs out the window?

    Most of our trains in Australia are from Japan and stuff there built over there so why can’t they find someone there that could redesign the ones we got from Japan. ?
