I don't want to spread hate or anything else but what the hell is that the reveal? Should TSW now become a damned children's game? This game is getting more and more absurd honestly what's wrong with the team?
It's just 1 single dlc and Thomas and Friends is a big name. A little fun doesn't hurt at the end of the day. We are all kids at heart
I'm aware that it's only one-time, but it's just ridiculous and absurd.... DTG has once again really disappointed the community. Many have wished for Berlin the Rheinruhr Express Or English stuff This is just embarrassing I mean of course, it's humorous it's funny, but for a full-fledged DLC simply questionable.
You are so right, this is like a big wet slap in the face to players of TSW let's bait you into thinking something good and productive will be released then upload this. This is meant to be a simulator not a kids game!! Think of all the times Dovetail have messed up DLCs by releasing them incomplete...we have hit rock bottom
I agree whats with all the negative comment for Thomas the tank engine. Yeah i guess that we were expecting something more bigger but just think about it, without thomas the tank engine there won't be even be steam engine. Thomas the franchise is the one that make many people here love train, for me i am one. I am sure that so many people here grew up watching this show, which was on channel thirteen or PBSKids and other channels around the world. I for sure am one who always gets excited to watch Thomas when it go on air, which i am sure many of you here also get excited as well. Also this was the only train TV show series that was on air. I don't believe there was any other shows on air that was about trains. I get where many people are coming from, i am also disappointed that my prediction was also wrong thinking that it was going to be a new game feature which was the In Train and Platform Announcment, which is a long over due feature that many people here have wanted, but was really confusing is they decided to add it to the west somerset route which does many any sense. They could have just add the originial route of thomas which is Sodor Island which were be a much fun experience and being able to see all of his friend but they didn't which is a let down. I do hope that the team would discuss about about Thomas the Tank Engine Route into the game.
It's just about playing with the expectations of the players so much that you have to prepare for a negative reaction. As I said, I don't want to spread negativity or hatred towards the developers here... But many were looking forward to something bigger. As mentioned, Berlin or something else but this is really just a slap in the face for the community. Sure, at the end of the day it's another DLC in the game but that's not child's play.
From a business perspective, I would imagine this is an incredibly good pull, even if it’s not for you it may well fund the next project or whatever you want in the game
I think they may have gone out for their Christmas do last night and perhaps had too much to drink, made a joke release video and release that instead of the actual video. That or Dovetail Towers has some sort of maniac running round it putting terrible ideas in people's heads.
They made and coloured a 3D model of Thomas and put it on WSR for a couple of screenshots, while the class 153 has yet to be coloured in. I think they're serious.
It's only Thomas and Diesel can't really put friends in it quite frankly it's a joke that big reveal all for nothing no wonder people are annoyed

Why is it, whenever DTG announce something, with vague detail, people hype up their expectations (which soon becomes a wishlist), knowing full well there's a huge chance they'll be disappointed. Seriously, why do people do this? Other than to complain for the sake of complaining.
I think the Thomas stuff is great, could really get a new generation into the whole train ethos and with the game. While I do get where a lot of negative comments are coming from, there does seem to be no pleasing some people, I'm not angry with the reveal, quite looking forward to it. Though had I been I reckon there would have been a lot more pressing things in life to get this wound up over.

I must be nobody then since i like it a lot and im 57 years old i can see the fun of it if you do not like do not buy it most time people who dislike thing are heard more since people who like something do not always express that on the forum even train simulator classic had stuff like this most people do not even mention that

Totally agreed. And people also making this out like TSW is finished and there won’t be anymore DLC after this. This will all be forgotten about in like a months time and then people won’t care anymore lol. I don’t mind this DLC to be honest. It’s actually WAY better than say another Xmas house DLC. It would have been cool to see James Percy and Gordon too which I’m a little gutted about but it will be interesting to play as Thomas. Especially in Free Roam.
Funnily enough, this is the first DLC in a while that I haven't simply shrugged off for a lack of interest. Thomas the Tank Engine played a significant part of my childhood and I will likely add it to my relatively small collection of TSW DLC since it looks fun. I could only imagine the outcry if DTG did a collaboration with Brio
Absolutely. They tell us the whole time, that they can't do authentic American freight stuff and steam, so they abondaned it. But absolutely unauthentic cartoon trains, they can do. They should be more focused on their ressoureces. Then the could concentrate on the right priorities. Game optimization and the development of steam and american freight stuff.
You speak of an extremely good point of resources DTG has almost none And those who currently have them are wasted... And regarding American freight train routes. I'll say I even imagine something exciting than driving through the desert with 10 KMH.
I think the freight part of MBTA Commuter isn't bad. But also there they need help from Community member Yuri.
It's disappointing (but alas not surprising) to see so many people throwing their toys out of the pram over a DLC announcement. I'm personally not particularly interested in Thomas the Tank Engine content, but there's plenty of other DLC to occupy my time (and wallet).
A lot of people are complaining about DTG new reveal, but nobody is saying Thomas who? I would bet a good few grew up with Thomas. Nobody has pointed out that this DLC will open TSW to a new generation to becoming rail fans, even if it only plays a small part, but some are complaining they didn't get what they wanted for Christmas, but Christmas in the Dovetail household is something that comes several times a year, not just once! Plus creating a product with Mattel will give DTG a much needed cash injection, which in turn will give them the ability to create more wonderful content for TSW and TSW6 itself. And who knows, Mattel might even create a TSW toy or product?
Lets call it what it actually is. Pathetic. A bunch of (assumingly) grown adults, probably men have lost their entitled, collective minds because DTG have introduced an internationally recognised brand into their Train Game Fantasy. Honestly, the reaction was funny for an hour or so but just like every new announcement (unless it is set before 1990 in a rusty, knackered BR Blue tin can) the debate just gets more and more toxic. Literally toxic. It's honestly pathetic.
. I´m glad that you are concerned about DTG´s bank balance. Why don´t you go ahead and donate your entire personal estate to DTG? Maybe that will help them to build more and longer routes in the future.
To be fair, if they have no money, they go bust, we get no game with or without Thomas. So cash is king.
