Soo, can actually somebody confirm the substitution fixes are more than just another blatant lie from DTG? Pictures plese...
Yes the vectron can be selected in the service menu on Hamburg - Lübeck, also the 1116 on Vorarlberg.., but:

(My platform is pc / steam), and substitution is for me the capability to spawn in of a loco into a service or a.i service!

I started with semmering and restarted it 75x, havent had a single vectron on those services its suposed to substitute. Only 1116s. Also the passenger service didnt appeare..

Then i went to Vorarlberg and restarted it 75x on foot and havent had a single 1116 spawned as substitution (only vectron and 185.2)
Then i went to Hamburg Lübeck and restarted it on foot 75x, had all kind of substitutions but not a single vectron.

I checked which services are compatible, so what the heck is botched with the most basic important nessecary system which is supposed to keep up the variety??

Post edit: the only substitution which actually works is the 642 on bremen oldenburg. But not the one above written

The last part is correct! The AFB is in normal situation not the one that brake the train. Its required as a traindriver to brake always manual! Also in LZB modus.

I had some repaints on the 111 on Salzburg Rosenheim! They are not before the today update.

The way I tested: 160kph (or thereabout), e brake into notch 1b, no air brake. Reset AFB to a lower speed (I believe it was 80). AFB used air brake and increased e brake right away.

Away from home now for 3 days, so can’t test other set ups. Will do, though, once I get home again…

Have recently obtained this route and am wondering if the 47 railtour has been removed as it isn't showing in my timetable options despite me having everything to date installed other than LIRR V2. After reviewing the release notes I also don't have the 103 railtour either (and despite the 193 being selectable probably don't have that railtour either.) There's nothing in the release notes to say these won't layer on the series S either

    this was in the announcement:
Three playable rail tours can be operated using the following locomotives and IC coaches from Linke Rheinstrecke:
    • DB BR 103 + IC coaches: Linke Rheinstrecke (AI = February to April)
    • British Rail Class 47 + IC coaches: Blackpool Branches + Linke Rheinstrecke (AI = June to July)
    • Railpool Vectron + IC coaches: Railpool BR 193 Vectron + Linke Rheinstrecke (AI = August – September)
or as you specified you don't see the 103, it might be the dates (or just linke rheinstecke)?

But that's the issue. None of them are selectable in timetable and according to that they're playable so the 47 and 103 should be in my loco list in the timetable and they aren't. The Vectron while there only has freight runs so that railtour isn't there either. As stated I own everything but LIRR V2 and have everything installed and haven't seen anything that says these layers aren't on the series S

I neither see the vectron substituting, nor the vectron passenger service appearing when im there on foot. (Same for the 1116 substitution at vorarlberg)

What a blatant lie in the last update log...., this will impact my purchaises that i wont even buy well made dlcs anymore from DTG.

There is problem with KGAG (43636) service. This train has to wait (part1 - part2) on wrong track in Gloggnitz. There is not enought space for this train and it blocks every train behind. [IMG]

do you know if they fixed this AFB issue where if you braked manually AFB still did as it pleased (aka not overriden by your own manual braking?) ?

if I remember last time I played, one run I relied upon AFB braking on downhill, one run I tried by adjusting e-brake, and it seemed to work depending on e-brake notch... but I might be wrong, might also try today if it works correctly

Pretty sure this was never fixed, not 100% certain, though. But I think DTG is not good in fixing these kind of issues. You need dedicated developers like cwf_green to work on a loco to fix these kind of details.

This is also the nr1 problem which prevents me from using the ICE1 more. Was never fixed, either…

cant we clone him? lol :D

anyway, will try a run today when I get back from work, if I am not totally dead :D ... probably best part to test this will be the descent parts with those steep downward gradients... will first try how much braking does AFB put into the effort by itself and then will mess around with e-brake only

or... making sure I understand this issue right - is the issue that when just trying to maintain speed, AFB doesnt get overriden if you use manual braking input... or... when trying to lower speed for a new limit, you first lower the AFB to new limit and then try to manually override AFB by using own braking input (which is sth some ppl do, but usually you brake first and then when at lower speed just set the AFB lever lower)? ... or have I just said the same thing twice basically? :D

so, when testing, what exactly should I be looking for? lets say AFB would be appling like, I dont know, 40 kN of braking force... and upon moving TRAIN or E-BRAKE lever (I am guessing it doesnt take DIRECT brake into account?), it should change depending on manual input, which may be lower or greater?

and lets say one of the braking scenarious would be like going from 80 to 40, so I assume it would put like 100 kN into braking, and once I move either lever, it would be more or less kN?

also, I use E-Bremse Erhohung in Funktionen, if it does change anything apart from higher braking force?

just making sure I understand clearly, so when I test it today, or tomorrow, that my results are relevant to if the bug is there or not (I usually brake first, then lower AFB, so I might not have noticed anything strange before, but now I WANT to know :D )

The problem is that in most TSW AFBs whatever brakes harder takes priority. In reality the AFB should completely be out of the loop as soon as any brake lever (apart from direct brake) is in 1A or higher.

To test just get up to speed, set AFB to a lower speed look at the pressure gage and then enable elec brake lever to 1A. The pressure should rise to 5bar again and the deceleration should get glreduced

ah, so this isnt an issue exclusive to Taurus? will try that :)

as I said, I rarely notice things like this since I am in the habit of zeroing throttle, braking, then releasing brakes and when I am under new limit, I then set AFB lever lower as an insurance against overshooting said limit :)

but yea, will try this today and see what happens :) ... first Training center and then Semmeringbahn

I think it is especially noticeable on an ICE1 when approaching a red signal under LZB and AFB. Under DB guidance you would never let AFB stop your train irl. In TSW you don’t have a chance, as otherwise you would always end up way before your stopping point. I find it really annoying when approaching my last stop on KWG where the last signal is red and you always end up 12m ahead of your stopping point, as you can not brake any lighter then what AFB damands in this instance. It just stops you too soon…

Probably not as annoying on non LZB routes, though. But for me it spoils the experience…

ok doing some testing on Training center circuit, and when I do as you say, aka e-brake to 1A, the pressure goes to 5bar, but the deceleration doesnt seem to decrease by much, the e-brake is still damn strong

so I guess you were right... I havent noticed this because when I adjust to lower speed limits, I just zero throttle, then brake, then release, and THEN I lower AFB to act as threshold... and sometimes I "abuse" AFB to control my descent... I know you should technically use e-brake to do that, but sometimes when I want a lazier Semmeringbahn run, I rely on AFB... I set the speed to 5 kph lower and let the AFB keep me somewhere between 0 and -5 kph around the limit

so I havent noticed this... I guess it is also on other locos... which sucks, but you never know when they decide to revisit this loco, hopefully in foreseeable future, because I mean, Railjet has to come sooner or later and in good quality or this forum is going to implode and explode at the same time :D

kinda feeling a bit sad that this is yet another thingie they didnt work out right on one of my fav locos of all time and space :/

that can be partly relieved by holding the train brake in quick release position... helped once or twice :D

I know :D ... I tried that and I could get a couple meters closer to the mark, somehow :D ... magic, I guess :D ... anyway, I have just completed a run from Murzzuschlag to W.Neustadt, and also tried what you suggested... the reason why I havent noticed the bug is that I either set the e-brake just enough so it kept the train under limit, or I relied upon AFB to help me keep the limit and thus I didnt interfere

so I guess for either of those styles of driving, it can be played with one eye closed lol, but for someone who prefers finer control like yourself, I can see why it can be a bother... tho it doesnt affect me as much, I wish they would catch details like this and make em work right :) ... maybe wouldnt hurt if you reminded them with a ticket from time to time and you never know... as I mentioned, they recently fixed that BR 442 timetable spawn bug where all services to Siegen (aka to Koln) would spawn one of the coupled EMUs without a panto, rendering them unplayable pretty much... that bug was there since like, almost forever, and they somehow finally got back to it, because people would remind em periodically of it :)

what about 101 Expert? I assume since it is done by ppl who are passionate and keep great attention to detail, that it works there?

although I know that they are trying to find a solution to another AFB issue - upon exiting LZB, it doesnt "lock" as it should (aka set itself to zero, unless you zero it yourself and then bring back to desired speed in PZB), but they are working on it

maybe Taurus gets done in Expert line sometime in the future and we will get things done properly... AFB stuff, LZB release stuff, etc :) Taurus would deserve it as one of the best locos IRL :)))

The expert 101 does not have this issue, obviously. Even the old br101 had this already modelled correctly. Also the ICE3 does it prototypical. Makes it even more annoying that a new release like the Taurus (or even the ICE1 at the time) have issues that were solved before. It’s this inconsistency which has me wondering sometimes…

they should pay cwf and others like him in gold bricks to fix the stuff :D ... and not only AFB, but as I mentioned also LZB in locos that have vmax 160 or less, so technically they always drive in PZB speeds, but sometimes they drive on LZB tracks... of course I can imagine 423 that hasnt AFB is easier to do with this, but I would love it if also 146, 112 and other such older locos had properly implemented LZB and also LZB/AFB interactions and LZB/PZB AFB resets

like yes, a sub 160 kph loco isnt going to get a whole lot of use on LZB line, but still

I don't know if this is a bug from the beginning or if some update caused it. While playing the scenarios, I noticed that the texts are not displayed at all, they are only in the log overview.

EDIT: My subtitles are mysteriously turned off in my settings .... I don't understand .... now is it OK

Does anyone else have the problem that the headlights of the 1116 aren't visible in TSW5?
Tried it with multiple timetable runs on Semmeringbahn

probably a stupid question, but just to make sure - you got the Master exterior light switch on the front desk on, right (I probably butchered the name of it but I hope you know which one I mean :) )?

I started freight service 54076 at Murzzuschlag with a 1116. I had a red signal until this 4024 came into the station. Started off using AFB, set at 40 km/h since we were in terminal and there was a 1000 hz signal showing on the console. Well, after about 5 minutes of driving up the hill, PZB still had not released. I tried pressing PZB release and acknowledge button, without any results. even tried turning PZB off then back on, still had that 1000 hz signal.

PZB bugs out on that route if you use PZB release. 5 mins does seem a long time though without adverse signals

    Yep, clearly a script bug.

I've heard in Austria, you do not use the PZB release, at least you don't release yourself from the startup programme in Austria, as opposed to Germany where the guidelines say to use it as soon as possible if the signals are allowing >30 km/h for the next 550 metres (time is money).

"Befreien Sie sich, wenn Sie zweifelsfrei einen Fahrtbegriff > 30 km/h wahrgenommen haben und keine 500 Hz-Beeinflussung innerhalb von 550 m zu erwarten ist."

Good afternoon. In the area of Schloglmuhl station, between 77-81km, on the left side, in the direction of Murzzuschlag, incorrect signs are used.

Easiest just to disengage AFB while on final approach. By this point throttle should no longer be a factor (locked out), you're just feathering brakes into a nice stop.

There is an ongoing issue with the Taurus loco where after a while the brakes stops working properly. Meaning that at notch 2 you get the same force as emergency brake. The only fix is to reset the physics.

Did anyone else notice this or what is it reported? I find this extremely bad for the driving experience as you are not able to brake properly
Also once this starts occurring it does not seem to release entirely , unless you keep the handle on Running positions longer.

Cant find how to reliable trigger this , it looks like at least once in two runs it will start happening, and mostly after you have stopped at a station

EDIT. I think its related to AFB. I have just reduce the AFB speed and it trigger the same emergency brake force in order to slow down the train

Also with AFB on when using the traction power there is a strange air his sound even if there shouldn't be any

I think that AFB overcharges the brakes , hence the hissing sound and the terrible brake experience after a while

Adding image with Air pressure in the reservoirs in case it tells anything.

So… Is this worth getting in the sale or should I spend my Xmas Steam Wallet credit on the Greece DLC for ETS2?

Still no vectron substitution....., very embaressing because in the update log was mentioned its fixed. And a vectron belongs on this route.
The route is very good yes! But like said, you only will come across 1116s.....

with some CC liveries it does spice up the railscene a bit. I think the route looks pretty good and is interesting to run on once or twice a week. the service variation is decent and the rolling stock on the line is borderline minimal. I'm unsure how far the sale is, but I can confirm the Greece DLC is very good too, especially on the difficult island roads it feels very real. the 1116 however a very often sight in my eyes is a great fun loco to drive but the route itself should have some more stock on it to be more enjoyable. future routes needing this 1116 if it isn't added in by default will be a miss because it's such an important train, but it currently barely layers anywhere special but on general freight loco layers and some EC on Salzburg - Rosenheim.

I’m bought this route in the current sale and while the route looks beautiful, I think the OBB 1116 is the most frustrating locomotive I’ve ever used in TSW.

    - with some snow on the ground I couldn’t apply more than 60% throttle or the wheels would slip. Sand don’t help.
    - it seems to require an odd amount of throttle on a 2.5% downhill grade? I struggled to maintain 60 km/h at 50% throttle, almost like a brake was stuck on? I did double check that all brakes (I clouding parking) were released.
    - twice along the way the train just glide to a halt. I could reapply power, it would show an I creasing kN, but the train wouldn’t move anywhere. In both cases after some combination of full brakes, reapplying throttle, disabling and re-enabling AFB, it would start moving. I felt like I was searching for a cheat code.

The last point is very possibly user error, but so far I’m not having a good time with this one.

Semmering gone on the back burner for now as it turned out I could pick up Greece for £7.99 courtesy of the Balkan bundle. So ETS2 having a revival for me at the moment, particularly as the Winter Wonderland event is on again, more interesting than the TSW December Mastery was!

I hope DTG gets the fact, that they loose sales with this kind of quality.
This should be fixable in a second.

They haven't fixed the brakes of the Taurus loco that sometimes overcharge themselves and make the loco almost unplayable. Also they did not modify the sounds to be proper implemented. I don't remember any major update to the DLC itself and that is sad since the route itself is very good overall.

I wonder if that’s part of my issue, it definitely feels like there’s some unintended / non-requested braking happening.

It is very annoying on the Taurus because the button control for the AFB lever is so sensitive that you often miss the right speed, f.e. speed reduction from 70 to 60. Touching Button „F“ on the keyboard twice but the control is so sensitive that it reduces the AFB setting to 55 and brakes immediately. In the ICE 1 the wrong AFB behaviour is annoying, too because the AFB speed can be set in 1 km/h steps and it’s also very hard to instantly reach the right AFB lever position.

most passenger Vectrons that go this route are I believe the new gen RailJet... and as we know, we arent getting RailJet... yet :/ ... and even then, the RailJets use Vectron 230 (which is quite new, not in the game) and NightJets use also classic Vectron (200 kph) / Taurus

I thought the timetable also was set in 2018 so that means no new ÖBB DANI trains anyways

Do the Railjets actually use the Vectron 230 yet? I have yet to see them with one personally, either recycled 160 freight ones or Tauri...
