While you are entitled to your opinion, and have every right to wait for TSW6, I am interested to know why the free starter pack doesn't entice you.
Why on earth are we talking about TSW6?! TSW hasn't even released yet! And why is the second thread I've seen today mentioning it.
Why not get the base pack for free in case a future TSW5 DLC appears that you want? If you wait longer than a month after release you can’t get the free TSW5 pack upgrade anymore, so you’d have to buy TSW5 to get the DLC. You don’t even have to install it, just own it.
Trying to frame the most expensive edition as the standard is ridiculous. There's literally going to be a free edition for god's sakes.
POV: You are looking for an excuse to slam DTG, and now that the excuse that all of us used for years is gone, you came up with one that might not even happen.
I recommend depriving this particular flame of oxygen through the cunning deployment of the lesser known no response strategy..
I quite agree no one seems to know what they are on about, just a load of trolls. Tried to get the free edition?? They want $60 plus. Perhaps people are dreaming of things that will not happen, wishful thinking sort of.
The free edition will be availbe at Launch, currently you can only pre order the different bundles. Get TSW5 for free September 17th, no money involved.
You may want to give this a quick gloss over mate. May be helpful. Train Sim World 5 FAQ : Dovetail Support (freshdesk.com)
This is the best thread here; it is getting silly I agree and it’s the same souls who put “TSW5 looks promising”. Promising how? When TS Classic has mega long routes, trains of all makes and models, modifications to boot.
TSW has moved to TSC way of things now (and that´s good!). Every year a name, a bunch of new bundles and a move over to the new core for free. They can make TSW 28, I don´t care. They actuall problem has been solved at this point. It´s a nothingburger now and these kind of threads make no sense.
Well, we don't know that yet. DTG have been clear that they reserve the right to make upgrade paid again in future.
Methinks you're the one who's dreaming; but more of things not happening so you have something to complain about? Am I right?
Will most likely end up with another disastrous release with another "WCML South route" released in a half baked state on the developers to pretend nothing happened until "oh, we're improving the route". The routes still in a half baked state to this day despite the update. Still missing Class 350 services as well as AI traffic for the non-stopping 390's. How are the Devs happy with this?
Hi Good evening Dovetail I have a suggestion I think Putting the Hudson Line On Train Sim World 5 Or Train Sim World 6 Would Be Great With The M7 And The P32 AC DM
" Great " only if it also comes with P32ACDM Metro + Shoreliner cars and Amtrak + Amfleet cars and CSX SD40-2 freight and extends to Poughkeepsie. Oh and yes, I'd like fries with that, please.
As much as having to buy the game every year is a pain, it does get better every year. TSW2 was a huge improvement from TSW2020, with it introducing wheelslip. TSW3 had the new amazing lighting (your opinion may differ) and brought in the Training Center. TSW4 had new creative tools and Free Roam TSW5 has conductor mode and fast travel I'm sure TSW6 will come through with a great nee feature for us all to enjoy. Except for me. I got the free starter pack so didn't get to experience any of TSW5's new stuff
I don't know what more they can add to the game if or when TSW6 arrives... My bet though would be that it would be moving to UE5. Whether they'd port existing routes across is another thing though.
Well, they weren't originally going to do that with TSW2, until everyone put their foot down. Suppose the same thing would happen for a potential move to TSW6, unless they make a new game altogether.
Like with anything in TSW, the community has to put their foot down with DTG to make things happen... An all to familiar occurrence.
Problem with moving to UE5, unless the reason things are so quiet at present is every coder working on a converter for routes and rolling stock, we lose everything from current TSW and have to start from scratch. The longer they leave it, the more untenable that situation becomes. I mean, yes obviously you could still play the old content in TSW (UE4) from now until the end of time, but just as now - when it comes to a choice of do I run this route in TSC or TSW, you go for the new program.
You can tell this to the CEO and the top executives of Dovetail. They think taking short cashgrabs with half baked routes infected with bugs is the way forward. Praying the casual players will not care enough to warrant improvements rather than the core players.
In a way, they did just make improvements and have the routes as add-ons. If you managed to get the free upgrade, then buy the individual routes available in TSW5 as add-ons. Even better, wait for a sale and there you have it, the cheap way to improve what you have without buying routes you don't want.
New features for TSW6. Cancellations. Replacement Bus Service (Bertie the bus as appropriate). Leaves on the line. Angry Passengers. Passengers jumping on the line…. Oh wait, we already have that.
It would be ironic as we sit here pondering the big UK route for TSW6, GEML, North Wales Coast, Glasgow to Fort William, St Pancras to… somewhere. Instead of which Thomas on a cartoonified WSR is the keynote pride and joy for the next iteration of the game. I fudge you not, stranger things have happened.
I personally think TSW6 will be Series X/S exclusive, no gen8 with more and more games becoming gen9 exclusive, I don’t see why TSW6 won’t be the same this year. As for now, there’s no evidence of TSW6s existence.
