Seeing as dovetail may be resuming steam development with their Thomas and friends pack, I thought we could really do with more steam in the game. A4 Pacifics would be great fun and could be made with a new route featuring a different section of the ECML set back in the steam era. This would of course feature Gresley’s 4468 Mallard and other A4 locomotives. Driving A4s would go down really well I think seeing as 60103 flying Scotsman was a great success. It would be great to see A4s in the game, and could even be a gameplay pack for the current ECML Peterborough to Doncaster route, however may not be totally realistic with the Azumas as well, but would still be cool. Hopefully Dovetail will resume steam development and we can see more iconic locomotives in the game like the A4s or even 60163 Tornado.
And don't read too much into Thomas. From what we can see, it's coming wit simplified physics. The time to ask the question about the future and possible revival of proper steam traction, will be when the Thomas stream(s) Q&A go live.
and I bet they will start with "BTW just because we have created Thomas doesn't mean that steam is coming back".. the first time we get 7 plank wagons and they are the troublesome trucks
never going to come i dont think, we have the ECML already (part of it) and in my opinion i dont see steam coming back in a long time (apart from thomas lol)
