I have been playing tsw for a while now and I recently upgraded to ps5 and was wandering if it was worth it to get the goblin line for WCML as well. I am semi interested in Goblin line as well. I don’t know if it’s worth so can someone please tell me. Thanks.
It’s a very good DLC if you like short routes with lots of stops. I really enjoy it. Although it’s short it still takes time to do an end to end run. The 710 is a nicely modelled train to drive. As you mentioned it also layers on to WCML South and now that DTG have done some improvements, it adds a decent number of services. It really depends what kind of route you like. But in my opinion, this is a good quality route.
Even if the route itself isn't your sort of thing, it's definitely worth it for the WCML South layers.
I bought it at release, played it for a week and then forgot about it. Goblin line is the same as Cathcart Circle... Looks wonderful, but you will be bored to death with it after a week and never touch it again. If you are buying any DLC routes just for the included locos and rolling stock, like the class 710, wait for a 75% discount.
I'm happy now for goblin line on PS5 because add more traffic in WCML whit other layers, so i would say is worth it on Gen9 consoles
A Great route if you Like Freight and other stuff..+ If you have ECML Class 700 Flying Scotsman There is a place to Trainspot Between Blackhorse Road and Harringay Green Lanes. + Lots of AI if you own Midland Mainline Spirit of Steam/Peak Forest 1938 Tube Stock etc.
Buy it on sale for the loco just to add traffic to WCML. But the route itself is just like driving a bus, slow speed limits, stops twice at every corner. Drove it a couple of times then stuck it in a closet. Actually the freight run was more engaging than the passenger.
The route looks very nice , and buying goblin lets you drive the Watford DC line (on WCML south) which is like another route , so I’d say it’s a good purchase although I did get it on sale .
It's very repetitive and very slow. Nowhere on a stopping passenger run will you be doing more than 45 to 50 MPH and there's a long straight stretch in the middle with a 30 MPH speed limit. The route and train are well made, apart from the perennial issue of passengers walking off the platform and becoming "one unders", so if you like stop/start electric bus services then will hit the spot. Personally I got bored after a brace of runs in each direction and haven't played it for months.
If you like short lines, goblin is definetly a must have. Also made well too. You can compare it to cathcart and the glossop line. Both very enjoyable for peope who like city commuter routes.
