Hi I'm looking for some advice and would appreciate any feedback, I drive Uk routes and have decided that i would like to try out some European ones, i'm not really sure what is out there so am looking for any recommendations. Traction would be either electric or diesel. A peaceful new year to you all. Daz
Depends on what you want to drive? High speed? Local/intercity commuter? Freight? Plenty of decent German routes out there, and there are merges on the steam workshop.
Are you after something that you buy and it a complete package or some Freeware routes where you need to obtain assets for the route and the trains Have a look at his map https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/train-simulator-classic-2024_940885#5/48.312/14.985 Click on one of the bold lines and a pop-up tells you the route name and where it comes from
I'm looking for something to buy as a complete package, thank you for the link I will definitely check that out
Recommending is always difficult, so let me summarize those I played. Date is of the release. 2007-10-12 - Ruhr-Sieg, Hagen - Siegen [workshop update available] Very old, but really versatile, shows off the old assets. Home to some old DLC. Lots of hills and a mountain. 2011-09-23 - Seebergbahn [workshop update available] Workshop. Probably the weakest graphics-wise. Complements Hagen-Siegen, mountain climb. 2012-10-10 - München - Augsburg Relatively short High Speed route. Bad timetables, but fun. Supplies ICE 3M, suitable for... 2013-07-25 - Hamburg - Hannover [workshop update available] Pretty long, but still uses old assets. Supplies ICE 2. Speed changes keep you occupied. Functional Lzb. 2014-05-15 - München - Garmisch-Partenkirchen Fun little route, the BR 426 feels a bit toy-like. 2014-12-05 - Köln - Koblenz 6 original scenarios + 16 with the BR 155 (in pairs). Teaches Pzb by enforcing it. Flat. 2015-12-11 - Semmeringbahn, Mürzzuschlag - Gloggnitz Fun little route, fairly pretty. 2015-12-21 - Mosel Valley, Koblenz - Trier Mostly 2D assets but in return it's stuffed, offering great views. Garmisch-Innsbruck was added later and it synergizes well with München-Garmisch, adding the BR 442. Newer routes are also usually nice, as far as I see. Plenty of wagon packs. I'd suggest taking something pretty and a couple cheap ones. Frankfurt High Speed, etc. By the way, there should be a DLC collection for German / Austrian / Swiss content. The latter was particularly well received (Albula etc).
Berlin - Leipzig is a nice route - there is a Berlin - Witteneberg route but that is the first version before it was extended https://store.steampowered.com/app/376943/Train_Simulator_Berlin__Leipzig_Route_AddOn/ Konstanz - Villingen is a good route https://store.steampowered.com/app/621922/Train_Simulator_KonstanzVillingen_Route_AddOn/ And there is an extension to Hausach https://store.steampowered.com/app/...gen_Route_Extension_Villingen__Hausach_AddOn/ I like the Salzburg - Rosenheim route from RSSLO which is on Sale until 31 Dec https://www.rsslo.com/product/salzburg-rosenheim-route/ With this route you just buy then download the route which has an installation file. There are a number of Swiss Narrow Gauge routes also available along with two Standard Gauge lines
Hi there. I have been working through a ton of European routes recently: https://sites.google.com/view/trainsimulatorcontent/europe-routes If you are looking for self contained routes then I would recommend picking up some cheap ones from Steam while the sale lasts. Some of the best routes (in my opinion) are the Dutch ones. You cannot get these from Steam. You would need to purchase locos from Christrains (or Justtrains) and then manually load them. To get you going the Steam ones are best. Once you feel like you are enjoying them then when you feel brave you might want to read Spikee's thread https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...and-v2-and-other-great-freeware-routes.86682/ Either way you are in good hands here on the forum. Members will guide you as you go. Respectfully
There’s also Lubeck to Kiel which is fairly flat but maybe worth a look in the sale. Can’t see Dresden to Leipzig mentioned, that’s a nice long run too and twice the length of its TSW cousin which only goes from Dresden to Riesa. The Berlin S-Bahn routes are very nice too. One that does look interesting but haven’t bought yet it the Harz narrow gauge route up to the Brockenbahn.
Last time I tried Kiel - Lubeck it would not work - signalling broken - not sure if they fixed it or not.
Once I find space to reinstall TSC (corrected!) I’ll check it out. I know the DMU had very poor physics, whoever created fell into the power notch = speed lock trap.
Two good calls vern. Berlin S-Bahn and the Brockenbahn are two most recent and exciting things in German TSC. Both great fun. PS: Ringbahn Berlin is getting an extension southwards next year and will enable users to drive 7 Berlin S-Bahn lines in full!
I have a couple of Danish routes - older assets in places but a huge network covering most of Denmark. They are Jylland and Sjaelland - updates of old Northern Europe Route. I think I got them from Team-Trainsim.dk. I did buy a couple of nice Danish trains for them which are something different
