Happy New Year to you too. Yes, the weather is horribly messed-up on a lot of routes right now. I played 4 hours straight on WCMLoS yesterday with dynamic weather and it never changed once... So I basically got the complete opposite of what you did. I'm also getting no weather changes on BML and Blackpool Branches.
I'm now getting snow turn to rain which has never happened before. The snow on the ground suddenly disappears. Then not long after it snows again.
No doubt WCMLoS is one of the worst for extreme dynamic weather! I don’t think I’ve yet done a Journey element that hasn’t deteriorated into thick fog or severe thunderstorms after 10 minutes and stayed that way.
Yeah the weather is schizophrenic on this route, I’ve been through every seasons on one run, it’s quite bizarre. Hope this will be fixed soon.
I think it is a Journey mode bug mainly. If you play the same service in timetable mode then dynamic weather should work more correctly. Unfortunately playing it this way will not advance your journey mode progress.
This does not appear to have been sorted. Currently running a timetable service in Journey (might be 1S80, 17xx from Preston) and the weather has gone goofy. It is literally going from full sun, to raging storm, back again then rinse and repeat in less than a minute. I’ve given up trying to put the wipers on as there’s no point. I know we moan that the weather normally turns stormy then doesn’t go back, but this is plain odd. JT/DTG, please sort.
Slightly off topic, but I do wish this was the case for services. That way, you could completely ignore journey mode if you're going for completion.
Yes it’s a silly omission as if you do a scenario outside Journey mode it does get ticked off. But not a timetable run.
I remember Matt saying that though you might have completed it in service mode, you haven't done it under the specific preset weather conditions on journey mode. That was back during TSW2 before dynamic weather, which some journey mode services do appear to make use of now. If the weather is randomised by the dynamic system then you can't really do the service under specific conditions because it'll be different each time you play it. Honestly, if I were making the decisions for TSW. I'd probably bin journey mode altogether at this point. Making it 100% optional is the next best thing though.
Yes it's annoying isn't it. When you play the individual services in timetable mode they seem to work ok. Even with dynamic weather. Well aswell as it works in TSW. Still changes far to quickly in my view. But it needs fixing and has needed fixing since I think there was a core update that broke dynamic weather in journey mode? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe it has been like it since release.
