this suggestion is based off of what happened with SEHS in TSW3, where the existing route was updated, and the route was extended to Ashford and Dartford.

this suggestion is the TSW2020 east coastway route, upgraded to TSW5 standards and extended to Hastings, instead of ending at Eastbourne

    HERES WHAT WOULD CHANGE:
    -
THERE WOULD BE A NEW 2024 TIMETABLE
    - the current lighting on ECW is a bit naff, it looks really weird compared to other routes. this route would get TOD4 lighting.
    - the current ECW 377 uses the older version, it would be replaced by the BML 377 - in addition to this, the model could be tweaked to be more accurate.
    - AI at Brighton for the 2024 timetable, 387s, 700s, 166s, Basically any london commuter at service at brighton.

    Locos:

Class 377/4 - with updated sounds, and new model

(NEW) Class 59 - In Mendip Livery.

    SCENERY IMPROVEMENTS

Scenery Improvements Around Newhaven Aggregates - New Foilage - Grass textures in the Track. - General TSW5 standard features added.

Newhaven Marine station itself is gone, and its now converted into a freight terminal, which, a couple of services may go from time to time

Coming out of Newhaven Harbour, some foilage improvements as well as scenery improved to TSW5 standards

those are just a couple of areas, to be honest, the whole route needs a good freshen up to TSW5 standards.

    Now for the Extension.

The Extension for this route runs for 14 miles, and ends in Hastings, it goes along the rest of the east coastway line, the line runs through mostly coastal scenery, as seen here at Bulverhythe, near Bexhill.

    Cooden Beach

    Normans Bay

St Leonards Warrior Square - Bo Peep Tunnel
    [IMG]

    In Conclusion

this route 100% deserves a remaster or a 2.0 version. the route as of now feels incredibly barren, and just abandoned, more love is needed.

    thank you all for listening

Would it be possible to get the <1 mile extension to Ore (the end of electrification)? It could open up several opportunities including a class 375 layer and the complete Southern service.

Also, I still hope we could get a nod to the parliamentary Newhaven Marine service despite the route potentially being set in 2024.

I think it’s a great idea especially upgrading Newhaven Marine for freight and maybe even for RHTT services etc.
One trouble is I don’t think they would extend the route; it would be fantastic but I doubt they’d do it.
Personally I’d love to see Wivelsfield to Lewes added as part of the extension to complete that triangle between Brighton Lewes and Keymer Junction.

Excellent suggestion and write-up! I agree that the EC route would be very fitting for a 2.0 overhaul, and adding the Mendip 59 would add a nice splash of added color (if they allow the license).

Apart from the many complaints it'd get from being too similar to a 66. I can already hear what people would say.

Have you seen that Chuggington-esque headlight cluster on the class 66 though? I've never seen anything like it!

would love to see the route upgraded and (if possible) removing the ECW ver of the 377. Since DTG struggle with fixing bugs on trains with so many variant. And honestly they should've given us a 377/3 on this route because modern day ECW is VERY different from what we have on TSW. As a local on the ECW i can 100% tell you that its true.

i think this would be great however i would use the class 377/2 and 4 as the 2 isnt avaible on console in timetable mode so this would fix that

Well Dovetail did or did not say that they'll they'll do the East Coastway remaster. But don't worry. You got Great Western Express. That's a TSW2020 remaster. And if we don't get a 2024 timetable for it. We might as well get a 2025 timetable for East Coastway :D

Being an Ashford lad, I would love this extension to the route, even better if it went to Ashford as well via the Marsh Link line. That would give good route hopping scope on to SEHS.

YES YES YES! brilliant idea! personally i was pretty annoyed that it didn't go to Hastings as it didn't feel long enough (it wasn't) and this could be AMAZING! it would be a big ask for them but maybe it could come with Hastings Ltd 1001?
