The Iron Ore Line runs from the Swedish city of Luleå to Narvik in norway. The line primarily runs iron ore freight trains to the port of Narvik in Norway Theese trains can weight up to 8600 tonnes. This line has beautiful scenery and runs some of the most powerful locomotives in the world! For TSW I think the perfect line would be Narvik-Riksgransen-Abisko-Kiruna. Kiruna houses scandinavias largest iron ore mine. The train climbs up from Narvik at sealevel up over the mountains with the maximum elevation of 523m over sealevel and runs down the swedish forests to Kiruna. The Ofoten line( Norway) runs from Narvik to Riksgransen( the border) and features the most scenic scenary and the most dramatic climbs. It also features some passenger stops with daily trains to Abisko and Kiruna. The main star of the show on this line would be the "IORE" Locomotive built by AdTranz specificly for this line. This is one of the most powerful locomotives in the world! With right over 7380hp and a tractive effort of 600Kn, this loco is no slouch. WHY would this line fit in TSW? This line would feature a completly NEW route outside of the main 3 countries(UK, Germany and USA) and feature completly new locos and rolling stock for the game. The scenary would also be stunning. Please take some time to read these wiki articles on the routes and its locos, its very interesting! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Ore_Line https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iore https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ofoten_Line
Personally I would prefer in a slightly vintage era, with the older freight locos and RC4’s on the passenger trains, which were slightly more numerous back in the 80’s. A great line scenically but probably too long for TSW and not the traffic levels, even with the freight, for an intensive timetable. Regardless of era it would need a whole host of new assets for the passenger and freight workings. We also don’t know disposition of the Norwegian and Swedish infrastructure and train operators to having their system depicted in a game. Ergo, could DTG even get a license?
I would love to get my hands on that beast, but it would have to be nice and detailed, otherwise it would be a big slog and snorefest... aaand they probably wouldnt do the whole line, as it is several hundred km long
