With it being 200 years since the first passenger Railway officially opened, Railways around the world will be holding celebrations in some form for Railway200, so I was wondering if DTG or indeed players, were planning something to celebrate this momentous milestone.
We will be getting Thomas on TVL with an extension to Stockton, knowing DTG. Or there will be some sort of new mastery which will put a static Locomotion on a route somewhere.
Too much to ask, I suppose, for DTG to build a copy of the preserved Locomotion 1 and simulate movement along a short stretch of TVL.
A lot of railways kicked the 200th year celebrations off at 12pm today with a whistle up. Some footage from NYMR who had 3 locos and Lucie the tram blowing off.
I went to Tanfield Railway's: I was thinking it would be good if Tanfield came to TSW. For all it's only 3 miles long, it's celebrating its 300th anniversary this year, and goes by Causey Arch, the oldest standing single-arch railway bridge.
At least that would bring the total number to 3. Better than the several hundred variations of the 66.
Whether we get something (decent) for this depends whether it was on DTGs radar a while ago and that they've had enough development time.
I mean, Rocket never ran on the S&D. It was a Liverpool & Manchester loco (not known as the Chat Moss line)
