Because this is a game and not real, please can the penalty for passing a red signal be changed. I would suggest 50 points off for the first time and scenario failure for the second. Also quite frequently the reason I have passed the red signal is because it has looked like a yellow signal, so please can you make the difference between the two lights clear
I would suggest an automatic penalty brake application (which would follow IRL as far as I know) with points deduction big enough so you cannot get the highest medal in that service (older services would then be silver at best and newer ones you would only be able to get gold)... the reasoning would be that if you manage to get red, you really shouldnt get the top medal as you just committed one of the most serious offences in railway (and would also face consequences IRL if you did this as a real engineer)
Cool idea another awesome idea would be to add cut scene of the proverbial tea and biscuits with manager scenario lol
I have suggested before that i would like - 1000 AP or add the option to disable game over in case of SPAD
It's a good thing the session ends upon passing a red signal. Having a SPAD can have serious consequences in real life.
Generally IRL, at best the driver would be permitted to carry on the shortest possible distance to clear the line and be relieved. Where the system in TSW falls down, is that it doesn't discriminate between SPAD's which are entirely the fault of the driver or those which occur for reasons beyond the player control, for example poorly set up signalling or the signalling being frozen loading a save game. There needs to be some flexibility, perhaps. That said, the real rail operators licensing their brands to DTG are not going to want to see trains going trhough red signals so hard to see DTG agreeing to relax the current arrangements. Though in fairness, TSC does allow you to over-ride game over after SPAD in the optons, with the obvious caveat this may have unwanted consequences. Given the number of TSC routes where I've been caught out by invisible signals, or signals not set up properly giving erroneous SPAD's, it is a sanity saver.
