The class 730s are the new trains that have replaced the class 323s in recent times. They are a more modern set of locomotives and are meant to be more efficient. Here's a photo of the train: This train will have an LNWR livery as well which will layer onto the WCML Euston-Milton Keynes: And like the Cathcart Circle line, this will include an upgrade to the route. These will include: A timetable upgrade Scenery upgrades in areas Extension to Worcester Shrub Hill & Foregate Street AI GWR services at Worcester AI services for class 390s at New Street and Lichfield Trent Valley AI class 158 Transport For Wales layers at New Street (With TFW livery from EMR 158) Drivable layers for the class 350s More recent progress on construction of Curzon Street Station This upgrade will basically be the Cross City equivalent of the Cathcart Circle upgrade
The class 730s replaced the 323s this train couldn't really come without some form of new route as cross city doesent really cover the full extent of where thewse trains go, they're mainly used to Shrewsbury. Although I do agree cross city really needs a timetable upgrade.
I agree cross city is desperate for a timetable upgrade at least now that we have WCML in the game. Honestly, wouldn’t mind seeing a route to Shrewsbury anyway featuring the 196s and TfW stock etc.
Seeing as the Camp Hill Line is laid in the original Cross City add-on (just blocked and lacking scenery) it would make sense to use that, with the new stations, and the new train that will serve it. It’s unelectrified, so it may well be these units anyway! I’d wait and see what happens when it opens.
Definitely need to add the Camp Hill Line once opened. If not done within a rebuild/remaster, then perhaps as a Branch Line Mini Pack as I have suggested previously in other threads.
Yeah, it almost feels like that, and the Soho TMD were left aside for a later date, that being (hopefully) soon through a remaster / TT update. I think Camp Hill is scheduled to open some time before this summer..
I'd happily pay £25 for a class 730 pack if it included both types with a 3/6 car Aventra timetable for Cross City (hopefully with a few 323s clinging on for variety) and the 5 car green units with a timetable replacing some of the 350 services on WCML South. I'm not sure whether the mainline 730s will go as far as Manchester, but if that's the plan, then they could also be of use for the ATS route too.
