This is about another Skyhook loco but the same will apply to the HST.

Edit: I'm actually not sure if that also means DTG can't do stuff to it, but I assume the intellectual property remains with Skyhook not DTG

Probably why I can’t open the coupler hatch on MML only on GWE

Unsure if I have missed this one but thought I'd ask anyway :)

Will the current journey mode be updated at all or will that stay the same and work off the old timetable? Wondering if this will work similar to ECW with the 313 timetable and the Bakerloo timetable where you choose which one (Old/new) you want to run? :)

I do also have to echo how good this looks! The work and time put into this have been incredible!

I wouldn't take vague statements like that as indicative of the contents of DTG's contracts with third party devs.

SHG are adding Conductor Mode to their Scotrail 158 I read somewhere. So not impossible they could implement on their MML 158 based off that, and then their 43 based off GWE.

Yet again the latest screenshots show just how much work DTG Liam has put in. As a fan (probably the biggest) of GWE I just want to thank him. My fingers are so itching to get this update. You are a credit to Dovetail Liam.

Yes and,IIRC what was said a while back, we will be able to run with the HST cab doors open so get some, albeit MTU, thrash rather than running in near silence.

    Bring it on!

Awesome, I must admit I do love running EMT HSTs with a door open so this will be a nice addition.

How about the tea and biscuits in the supervisor's office at the terminal station when they find out you did this

Actually it was not that uncommon in practice for HST’s to run round with the cab doors open, particularly in summer when the cab air conditioning had failed. I can’t ever recall a rule book or Sectional Appendix instruction specifically prohibiting this.

I'm wagering tea and biscuits its mentioned now (or up to when HSTs retire(d)) somewhere since H&S became ridiculous, perhaps not for HST specifically but anything that has manual doors

Ours are long gone now, but right up to the end it were commonplace as the Air Conditioning rarely did much of use.

That would have been quite fun when they had Valenta engines.

HSTs don't have PIS internally or externally.
The class 166 does have PIS and has been implemented since it was updated many years ago by the preservation team so I would assume it will still work with this remaster.

Yes they did. What makes it better than PIS on other trains is that it is made from natural materials and is recyclable. ;):D

Some of those 'fell' into my bag from time to time. The adhesive wasn't all that, you understand.

I don't think I recall there being a single journey where at least one hadn't 'fallen off', there were always at least one missing before reaching King Cross! :D

    IIRC, they were reversible too.
I wouldn't have wanted to be the train manager on those services. Having to go through the whole train to swap them/replace them along with the seat reservation ticket stubs.

Yep, still works with the same PIS tech added to the FGB 166 and fake 165's. Nothing for the HST. Looked at adding the paper destination boards but out of scope.

DTG Liam , does sdo work on the 387 at Hanwell as in real life I believe the first 4 coaches open whereas the rest are closed?

depends how eagle eyed the platform staff
/anyone lineside-based are, because most TOCs and RSSB now prohibit the cab door being open whilst the vehicle is in motion (don’t ask me what the reasoning is for this as I don’t know).

If the latter is so, it is classed as an operational incident despite the audible thrash quality being increased :(

DTG Liam how is the conductor mode shaping up? Really excited to work a HST with the old CDL panel and with a bouncy ride whilst checking tickets.

Very excited for the whole remaster as well looking at the screenshots, top work mate!

I was wondering about the stopping patterns at Hanwell too, as in the current timetable I don't think any services stop there.

I'd be careful, there are certain members of the forum who don't like release dates being discussed, though I think we are safe here! :D

In all seriousness, no not really it is a case of it being ready when Liam is happy with it, from what I gather, so he can take all the time he needs.

Hey so I completely forgot to mention this until just now, I think it would be a good addition (if it’s not too late) for there to be a guard buzzer the 166 & HST after you close the doors, nothing fancy but simple like the 142. Idk about anyone else buts it’s something I’d appreciate

Like the 158 but without the door simulation would be fine too imo. (I.e. literally once doors have all closed, buzz buzz)

DTG Liam, I realise that this is almost definitely out of scope but I thought I may as well ask, will ATP (or some simplified version of it) be implemented on the HST's?

I did look into it but dropped the idea when I realised I'd need to do some cab remodelling along with creating the actual system.

Midland Mainline is already part of the game, as is the HST. Classes 222 and 319 are always options for DLC, especially as we already have Thameslink 700's in-game. It's always fun, much like GWE, to see old routes get revisited and further expanded upon even if its just one or 2 new trains included

The section of the Midland Main Line in TSW is nowhere near the Bedford - St Pancras section, so a 700 and 319 are not a possibility. Well, unless they managed to coast far enough. :D
