ScotRail 318264 and 318261 takes charge of the 14:43 Airdrie to Balloch service as the train passes through Bowling, 2nd January 2025:
Installment 16 in a multipart chronological depiction of an Autumn morning stopping passenger QuickDrive on Golden Age Developments' freeware West of England Mainline, phase 2, which extends tracks further eastward to Yeovil Town. Our journey begins there, stopping at all stations until the drive terminates at Exeter. Our train is powered by Caledonia Works' rendering of the LSWR 415/0415 class 4-4-2T steam locomotive, commonly known as the Adams Radial Tank. It is seen in Adams Brown livery, pulling six LSWR coaches. This installment. sees us depart Sidmouth Junction and travel toward Whimple. Departing Sidmouth Junction Station: En route to Whimple: as above: as above: RWE2 (gimped), AP S&W2+Clouds TO BE CONTINUED . . .
i did a little funny lmao. This is using a 377/2 dressing up as a /5 (They are kinda the same on the outside) and if /5s have went to Southern haha.

Installment 9 in a multiset chronological depiction of a cloudy Autumn morning passenger run QD between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Picadilly (via Warrington Central). The train consists of Caledonia Works' LNWR Webb Coal Tank No. 1054, in preservation livery, pulling AP MK1 coaches. All images are manipulated via Paint.NET (freeware image editor), Wondershare Filmora (payware video creator/editor), or both. This installment sees us en route to and stopped at Warrington Central. Installment 8 in a chronological pictorial depiction of a stopping passenger service faux heritage rail-tour QuickDrive on AP's Wherry Lines - Norwich to Greater Yarmouth & Lowestoft, a somewhat recent purchase when these images were captured. To it is added AP's route enhancement pack. This is the most consistently visually appealing primarily rural route in my possession. So pleasing that I drove and captured images of four passenger runs in rapid succession. This series showcases the first of those runs, from Norwich to Lowestoft. Motive power is Caledonia Works' "Single-Wheeler" GER P43 4-2-2 tendered steam loco, another recent acquisition when this run was driven, seen in its super-heated coal-burning variant. The train is, admittedly, not ideally suited for stopping passenger duty; the P43 primarily an express locomotive, the train overlong for the route's often small station/halt platforms. (Coach count is reduced for the remaining three runs.) This installment sees us between Cantley and Reedham. as above: as above: as above: as above: RWE2 (gimped), AP S&W2+Clouds+RouteEnchancementPack TO BE CONTINUED . . .
A Cycle of Seasons Usually I share pictures by newest first, but this one tells a little story of going through the seasons. West Highland Line Extension I feel like this is a good route for those sticking to Steam. The Class 37 gets boring inevitably, maybe one shouldn't play all scenarios at once but keep returning every once in a while. I ended up showing Mk1s thus far, which are essentially the same as before, however it supplies an updated, weathered version of several new wagons (OTA, PCA, TTA) and a couple new ones (lumber bulkhead flats). Makes sense to use these in place of the Kuju ones in custom scenarios. The DLC isn't perfect, though. Installment 17 in a seemingly endless multipart chronological depiction of a mid-autumn morning stopping passenger service faux Heritage Railtour QD, from London to Peterborough, on ECML London - Peterborough route. Motive power is Caledonia Works' GER T69 4-6-0 tendered steam loco, seen in LNER B12 Lined Black Livery. It hauls what QD terms the 1936 Queen of Scotland Coach Set. As such, I selected Queen of Scots for the loco's headboard. We travel the "slow" track, allowing stops at all stations en route. This installment sees us en route to, at, and just departed from Sandy. En route to Sandy: Stopped at Sandy: Sandy platform detail: Departing Sandy station: We're likely still within Sandy, en route to Neots, which we don't arrive at until installment 19: RWE2 (gimped), AP S&W2+Clouds+Veggies TO BE CONTINUED . . .

This being the beginning of another bout of nasty winter weather here in mid-south USA, it seems an appropriate time to begin posting images of a QuickDrive driven during late June of 2024, depicting a faux British stopping passenger service from Carlisle P3 to Castle Kennedy on a snowy winter day. Our train consists of two Caledonian coaches pulled by Caledonia Works 2023 remake of its CR123 4-2-2 single-wheeler steam locomotive with tender. To my happy surprise, the use of Winter cloudy-snow transformed the route's visually dated landscape into a thing of beauty. The result is possibly my largest screenshot series yet, and a personal favorite. Carlisle Station, UK, platform 3. It is 0655 on a snowy winter morning. We await a 0700 departure: Within Carlisle, not far beyond the station: as above: An odd capture, but I like the lighting of the loco's body seen through a cab window, from a source hidden by the cab's walls: En route to Gretna Green: Stop 1 - Gretna (not so) Green: as above: RWE2 (gimped), AP S&W2+Clouds TO BE CONTINUED . . .
The late 1980s - the brief window between introduction of refurbished Class 37/4 to provide ETH supply on passenger services (and removal of steam-heat) and abolition of the traditional semaphore signalling to be replaced by Radio Electronic Token Block (RETB). The southbound Fort William sleeper is seen wending its way across Rannoch Moor and descending towards Rannoch station, where it meets the afternoon Glasgow-Fort William passenger service. The crew will exchange trains here and work back to their respective bases. Of the southbound service, only the rear 4 vehicles will make it through to Euston. The restaurant car will be removed at Glasgow and attached to the northbound sleeper tomorrow morning for breakfast service, as will the leading passenger vehicles. Route: West Highland Line (South) Stock: AP Class 37 Pack 01 (37/4), AP Mk1 & Mk2A/B/C, WCML South (Mk3 SLEP) Enhancements: AP Sky & Weather Packs (This is a route that would benefit from application of AP's Vegetation Upgrade pack but this is probably beyond my capability.

Installment 16 in a multipart pictorial depiction of a mid-Autumn morning stopping passenger service Heritage Rail Tour QuickDrive, from Crewe to Holyhead, on North Wales Coast Line, acquired during Steam's Winter 2023/24 sale. Having belonged to LNWR in pre-grouping days, I power the train with a favorite steam-era loco, Caledonia Works' LNWR "Greater Britain", No.3435 "Queen Empress" to be exact, seen in Lilac & Cream livery. Though Greater Britain looks to be a conventional 2-4-2 tendered locomotive it is, in actuality, a 2-2-2-2 compound loco. It pulls four LNWR coaches, the last of them an observation coach, which I failed to capture adequately. This installment sees us at Conwy and Penmaenmawr. Departing Conwy: En route to Penmaenmawr: A glimpse of the coastline from whence the route aquires its name: Stopped at Penmaenmawr: as above: RWE2 (gimped), AP S&W2+Clouds+Veggies TO BE CONTINUED . . .
A couple more shots at Rannoch, approximately 2hrs and 30 years earlier than the previous set. The 4.45pm Glasgow Queen Street to Fort William, which included a portion from Edinburgh Waverley with dining and observation car (although in reality not the Devon Belle Pullman vehicle!) restarts from the station and commences the final climb of the day, 1:54 towards Corrour. The train engine is a brand new BR Standard 5 recently allocated to Cowlairs Shed, and it is piloted by a very grimy Fort William K1 class which appears to be doing most of the work. I really like the various LNER coaches from Matrix Trains, particularly in BR Carmine & Cream livery. It is a great pity that so few Thompson vehicles have survived in real life into preservation; a consequence of steel construction and resultant severe corrosion that they suffered in their lifetimes compared to the earlier Teak panelled stock of Gresley design. Route: West Highland Line (South) Locos: Peppercorn K1 (Steam Sounds Supreme), BR Standard 5 (Just Trains) Stock: AP Mk1, Matrix Trains Thompson & Gresley coaches, SSS Gresley coaches (Stainmore) Enhancements: AP Sky & Lighting upgrades

A favourite CD diesel class (and it's most numerous) Cargo loco no. 742 077-1 trundles down the grade making its way from Horni Lipova to Hanusovice with 3 EAS wagons (log loads) and an empty tank car. The 742 class has an 883kW engine as standard but there are variants (rebuilds) with 1000kW. The standard 883kW version has similar duties to its BR equivalents (classes 24 and 26) but has no heating and a lower top speed (90kph). It is very similar in appearance to the American GP7s and runs long hood forward, some rebuilds even have a GP looking chop nose.
Installment 4 in a multipart chronological pictorial depiction of a faux "heritage" stopping passenger run QuickDrive, from Southampton to Bournemouth, on Dovetail's South Western Main Line: Southampton - Bournemouth. Motive power is Caledonia Works' LSWR 700 class 0-6-0 tendered steam locomotive. It pulls a short rake of LSWR coaches which, if memory serves, are from GAD's LSWR 6-wheel Carriage Pack 1, sold through CW (but don't quote me). This installment sees us en route to, at, and departing Totton.
