Xbox Series X Wcml Shap Random Game Crashes

Firstly this is an absolutely fantastic and enjoyable route so huge congratulations to the development team. Only problem is I seem to get random crashes on my Xbox Series S where the game just shuts down completely and goes back to the Xbox home page in the middle of a run. Any advice on how to prevent these crashes since there doesn't seem to be any particular pattern?

 

Unfortunately at the moment, it is a tsw core issue as well as an xbox issue

 

Every Single Time I Approach Euston or pass Wembley on all services, the game crashes. I’m playing on PS5 and this should not be happening. Worst of all, if the game crashes in Wembley, my PlayStation goes dark for a couple of seconds, which makes me worry this constant crashing could corrupt my data.

I think this happens because there are too many trains in the sidings at both Wembley and Camden, but this shouldn’t be happening. The fact Dovetail are just doing nothing about it, even with a recent update, disgusts me. The game slows down in these areas and then crashes. Is there a way to fix this, because I don’t think Dovetail are gonna solve this if they have no clue what they are doing…

He said he’s on PS5. I have the same issue plus some red lights (never turning green) when arriving at Euston, very frustrating when you did a whole service for nothing. I’m also on PS5 and since the last “patch” who broke the route, I don’t play that route at all.

The usual radio silence motto from DTG about that issue is unacceptable. Crashing is common, huge FPS drop never seen before, sometimes I have 10 fps especially around Watford Junction…

PS: I’ve deactivated all my personal liveries, it changes performance a little bit but still it’s a mess.

 

The other day I fired up WCML south, and spawned in an 87 for a Railtour. I lost count the amount of FPS issues I had. This was on PS5.

They slowed it right down.

 

How many layers do you guys have installed? I’m missing of the freight gameplay packs, so I guess I have a little less static stock standing around, which seems to massively improve things. Another important thing is obviously to have as little custom liveries as possible. Spawning a train full of unique wagons using free roam can also cause a performance hit.

 

Weirdly I play TSW on my PS5 and WCML South seems to be performing fine. The only stuttering issue I can think of is a bit at Wembley yards.

 

I'm also on PS5 and the bakerloo section works fine apart for little stutters, i have the gameplay pack and all other layers like class 710, 66, 377, 350, 390 and 72 stock

 

Tried closing game after each run or saving then closing. No more mid game crashes as yet so this issue seems to be related to the quick restart when you start the game and it automatically continues from the previous run. I'm sure someone could explain this feature on the Xbox Series S more technically than me!

 

Nope, even Bakerloo Line is affected. When I drive between Harlesden and Stonebridge, the game slows, then crashes and then my PlayStation shuts off.

 

The Class 350, Class 390, Class 710 and 1972 Stock.

The Class 377 only goes between Watford and Wembley so it’s not as bad. I’m yet to drive a 66 on the route yet.

 

PlayStation issue maybe?

I'm on Xbox (Series X) and had no crashes so far.

 

Playing wcml south last night. Bloody game crashed again just outside milton Keynes. Any update on when we can see a fix? Been like this for me since november.

 

Fixes are coming.

 

Sooner the better. Game is frustrating just now.

 

According to the roadmap, they're prioritising performance. I suppose that means we'll see something by February.

 

Think it said something would be out by the end of the month (January).

 

Am on series x. I got 2 crashes and alot of lag so far. Basically unplayable sometimes

 

Weird that. How can two people on the same console have completely different experiences?

I haven't had a crash at all, not even any lag or stuttering. It's been as smooth as butter for me.

Strange how someone can start a thread about crashes on one route and then everybody else just talks about a completely different route. I opened the thread to post that I had just had a crash on WCML Shap on PS5 but I guess the thread is about WCML South now so I’ll not bother.

Not completely solved but much better! Just crashed on a non-stop Carlisle to Preston passanger run in thick fog 6 miles from Preston.
