Well this scenario took a bit of setting up (it is 99% there now with just some final tweaking to do). Having 6 AI services in Saltburn all at the same time was a challenge and, although I not entirely happy with things, you can see the advantage of extra paths and extra formations now. Anyway here are a few screenshots. Player service is a hybrid CL101 and here we see it departing Saltburn and passes some engineering services working in the sidings. Speeding up as we leave Saltburn behind. Signal check just after British Steel platform. Note a freight train passing over the bridge ahead heading for the various Coal and Oil terminals. The same service seen in the screenshot above as it runs alongside the road leading to the loading terminals. Approaching Lackenby sidings. More screenshots to follow
Approaching Grangetown. And a Peak pulls out from the Potash terminal and travels along the goods lines. As we pull in to Grangetown a pair of CL37's head up the branch with a train of TEAs. Whilst a CL08 potters about in the nearby sidings.
Finally, we depart Grangetown and head for Middlesborough where we park up in the carriage sidings (even though half of the passengers won't get off). At one point I thought that this scenario was for the bin but it seems OK now
Six AI services running about at Redcar Ore Terminal. Now that DID take a bit of sorting out (and I've still not entirely got it right yet). Spotted some pathing errors creating this one and, also, some sidings that I hadn't previously connected up. So it was worth revisiting
Dropped a clanger with this scenario. Because I didn't copy one that had got all the AI already in place at Thornaby I'm going to have to do it all over again Anyway here's a sneaky look at a couple of locos in the depot (taken at dusk after flying over all the way from the scenario starting point). Mind you it will be dark by the time the player gets here !!! (Might have to alter the start time).
And here are some screenshots taken in the dusk as the player tries to get to Tees Yard before it gets pitch black As we descend from Lackenby we are held at a red signal whilst a National Rail CL101 DMU passes by on the main lines. Then a CL20 / CL31 combo passes by on a short ballast working. After which we are overtaken by a 6-car CL101 DMU service heading for Boro. Then a Peak heads by on a return excursion working. After which we get the signal to head off to South Bank, and then Tees Yard, passing a 4-car CL101 DMU on the way. It does get a bit dark from this moment onwards !!!
Mind you it is just about light enough to see a late running HST heading for Middlesborough pass us at Tees Yard before we are then overtaken by another CL37 hauled freight Scenario is approx 70 minutes long and just needs filling up right at the end. (Mind you an alternative end point could be needed as another AI service is already in the final siding but you can't see it as it is so dark. Shame the yard lights don't work).
Last scenario. just pootling around moving an 8F from the Chrome works sidings at Allens West to Middlesborough. Of course there was a crash to desktop 60 seconds before the end The Player formation. Just waiting for clearance to depart. A pair of 37s pass by as we join the main lines. A pair of 20s pass us at Allens West station whilst we are stuck at a red light. Passing through Eaglescliffe station.
Crossing over the river at Thornaby. Passing a 2-car DMU just outside Thornaby. Entering Tees Yard as a CL47 departs with a long rake of TEAs. Tees Yard is quite busy. Trundling past the lifting bridge as we leave the yard.
As we join the goods lines before Boro station a CL47 appears hauling PGAs. Then we are overtaken by a CL31 hauling HEAS. A pair of 20s pass with their rake of PCAs. An HST sets off on its long journey to the Capital. Finally a short steel train passes by with both empty and loaded wagons. Enjoy
Just found an eighth scenario that I had started (and forgotten about). This will be the last one that I will produce before I then finalise everything. (I wouldn't have bothered but I quite like the Player Formation). An unusual 3-car CL101 rake with each car having a different livery
Here's some screenshots from testing the final scenario using the unusual 3-car CL101 as the player service. Passing Thornaby depot. At Allens West (lots of people heading to Middlesborough?) Stopping at Dinsdale just as the sun has gone in. Enjoy
And arrival at a busy Darlington station with North and Southbound HSTs (inc a prototype) and local services on view. And that is, hopefully, the end of the design part of the project. I now have final versions of the BR Blue Formation files, the Tees Valley Path files and the 'Special' files that help create the illusion of loose consists in-game. All that needs to happen now is full testing (to spot my mistakes) and then the mods can be released. It shouldn't be too long now .
A last minute extra loco that will probably pop up in Lackenby somewhere (might do a matching Sentinel too.....if I haven't already done one). Need to add a few fake lights on it but, otherwise, I'm quite pleased with 20 minutes work Mind you, you really do need to put your sunglasses on if you want to look at it in the Summer months .
Well I'm pleased to announce, after a few scary moments, that I have now got my TVL files working in TSW5 Initially only my EDN-GLA files seemed to transfer, see my other thread for some good screenshots, but now I think I have sorted out TVL and GOBLIN after a bit of file naming experimenting. See here are a couple of screenshots of one of my scenarios in TSW5.
Strike that one too. It does work now (I figured out what rookie mistake I had made ). See separate thread for more TSW5 screenshots.
