Well, if we calculate the working time and the general effort, the price is almost justified and by flops I mean because of mistakes and because I hardly hear anything about the DLC. And yes, I personally don't know by head where you can use the 101 expert I just don't know that you can use it on the Dresden Chemnitz route as a freight train which is funny
great DLC, although since oftentimes calculations are required and solving issues can be tricky, I dont play it as much... but I often check feedback and bug threads for it since the devs are super active and try to catch and implement even super small details which many ppl dont even use... the care they put into their product is unprecedented... bugs and issues are noted and looked into and often either solved or at least they give ppl tips on how to work around the issues till they are actually solved this aint a product left for dead like some older DLCs... it is constantly being worked on... if all or at least half of DLCs got this kind and level of treatment, the game would be a neverending traingasm
The thread title isn't great - would be just as easy (and more fair) to ask "is it a success?" but I guess that's what the OP was looking for to start a debate. Personally, this is one of the two DLCs I didn't buy (along with the Christmas Elf train thing) - but that doesn't mean I'm not really glad it exists. I think it is aimed at those asking for more realism, and that's brilliant. Clearly a huge amount of research and work has gone into it, and the price reflects that - pretty sure nobody went into this thinking there would be a 100% attach rate. It's really good to see, and I'd much rather it was made than wasn't. And maybe one day I will decide to give it a try - I value having that choice. Just because it's not 'perfect' or not precisely what I want... certainly doesn't make me want to consider whether it's a "flop."
People at this forum only represent a small part of the whole community, and probably the most hard-core of fans of TSW. Really says little on how well the Expert 101 actually sold. I, for example, didn't buy it and have no plans to do so. I'm quite satisfied with the regular 101.
We know it at least sold well enough for them to start working on a second expert DLC, so take that as you will. Either way, I don't think sales numbers were the most important metric they considered when making the Expert BR 101.
I have to agree with you 100%. TSG has a quality that is so blatant that even I can't put it into words. And yes the care and maintenance of the 101. Is really hell in a positive sense

But it's interesting that you haven't decided on it yet and yes price already scares people off But the work you put in there is just worth it in the end
There are a lot of communities for tsw alone on Discord and in other forums (the only forum that exists for tsw) and it is up to everyone which DLC is best for one. And the old 101 well I m not a big of it to many bugs etc.
I hope so much of a Traxx Expert addon ;-; but yea serious. I don't think the transparency is quite clear, there are reasons why you shouldn't show how well it has sold, but it would be interesting
I mean, I am ok with regular one from Frankfurt Fulda, since that one has the LZB working properly (finally ! )... but an expert one, why not ... controls-wise it is pretty close to 101... personally, I would prefer sth like 442, but with expert features (and maybe Ebula)... y know, something thats really simple in regular version, but with added challenge of having to maintain and look after expert things (and with more realistic handling etc)
I don't have exact figures, but Steam DB says the BR 101 outsold the Just Trains Preston-Carlisle route. I think we can all agree that the Just Trains route was easily a "success" so something that sold a lot more than that would have to be a "success" too. A lot fewer people talking about it on the forum... but a lot of people bought it and are playing it. The 91% positive rating is very good too. I
I bought it last month, at a 20% discount. Still expensive, but you can really see where it comes from. They must have put in a lot of time it for it to be this good
