So recently in real life when I'm booking a train journey down the other side of the border. I'll book the exact seats. Let's say for example it's LNER. I actually found the exact coach and seat I was in on my ticket and then located it in TSW to see if I had a good seat. Done this with Avanti as well lol. Anyone else do this? I actually find it quite useful.
Lol me too - I used to do this with LNER - but now I know the orientations and layout pretty much so don't bother anymore + they have a seat map in the app. It's useful though for determining OH storage + window view.
Yeah lol. Great on the azuma trains. Just tried to do it for the class 390 as I'm travelling on it for my first time (properly) this Saturday. Sadly seat numbers aren't displayed inside. Still quite cool lol.
I have not with TSW, but as a frequent user of them, the northeastern US passenger trains that are simulated are usually on point visually. The sounds can be a little off, and things like missing door chimes and auto announcements on the Acela, the absent "chug" and disc brake whine of Amfleets, lack of the "KA-CLUNK-KA-CLUNK" of hitting rail joints and points, and lack of auto announcements on the MTA M7's remind you you're in a game, but otherwise the models and interior are pretty accurate. I have tried playing the OG MSTS NEC with an Acela traveling south from Philly to DC, whilst on an Acela as we pulled out of Philly, but quickly got motion sick as the scenery moving in my peripheral was not moving at the same pace as the train in the game lol.
Wee trip to Carlisle. Cost me an arm and a leg but it'll be worth it. Getting a pendolino down and a class 156 back. Can't wait!
