Over in the forum for this game, dtg_jan gave this answer when someone asked if the game was on Playstation:
I have the original TramSim video game. Do I have to purchase this latest version of the game or will I be able to get it as an update?
Yes. It’s a separate and new game so you’ll have to buy it. DTG are just the publisher for both games, they’re developed by ViewApp.
Thanks, I tried to play it. I had to delete it then reinstalled it and I got the depot and one of the tram add-ons.
To force you buying the Collector’s Edition but yeah having to pay again for the Flexity you already have in the previous iteration :/ I know it’s a separate and brand new game but it should’ve been integrated into the base game and instead they’ll add another model instead.
Visions of Flight Sim World where they started selling DLC for an unfinished game they lifted out of early access, then promptly ditched.
After being "burned" by the last Tram game released by DTG, I won't be buying it. But I'm keeping a close eye on it to see if real cities are added, or whether it'll be left to die.
No real city is the showstopper for me. Well that, and the complete lack of support for their previous game. Those prices certainly don’t help either, though.
As I said in the other thread, this has so much potential particularly for fans of logistics setting up routes and timetables. But not at that very cheeky full price and with so many bugs it really was a bit of a nerve for the developer and DTG to decide they were done with early access.
