The speed limits between NJ Liberty or NY Penn station and New Rochelle, running the ACS64,, seem arbitrary and annoying, not consistent with prototype railroading. Those abrupt accelerations and deceleration would be hell on both passengers and couplers. Why the amateurish placement of speed assignments not associated with interlockings, sharp curves, etc.?
I agree. You'll be running the Amtrak loco & the speed will be 45 mph, then all of a sudden it'll drop to 30 mph within 200m making you basically emergency brake, then it'll go back up to 45 mph 100m later. It's quite annoying and screws with our overall scores at the end. This isn't a new issue, either. People have been writing in about this for almost a year now.
