Basically the title, since playing tsw quite a bit with the speedo off i would like to do it in ts classic, but I'm not sure if there is like any hud mod that exists like that.

Use F3 to put the HUD on - then again and it goes away.
But you lose a lot more info than just the Speedo

Regardi g the other contents of the HUD. If you are playing German/Austrian/Swiss routes it is actually more realistic driving with the HUD on. The HUD shows a simplified form of the EBULA fahrplan computer, and you are not allowed to drive without that in these countries.

RWE2 lets you modify the RWE2 HUD to display what you want and don’t want to see when driving.

It does not alter the TSC Hud to be clear, which is best switched off if using RWE2 HUD.

You can use the 3rd Rails map app. It has a detachable speedometer you can place on your desktop or extended desktop. It loads a map so you can see where you are driving.
