Route Suggestion - South Western Railway Route - Basingstoke & Alton to London Waterloo Rolling Stock - 66, 159, 444, 450, 455 & 458
Whats special about the route? Notable landmarks? Service patterns? Anything unusual that makes it stand out?
Then do some research on it. A good, detailed suggestion will likely gain more traction, and is more likely to be noticed.
I'm giving you advice on how to make your suggestion stand out. No need for the attitude. Naming a route, and a train for it, is not enough to gauge interest. All people will do when they see posts that do so, is request specific details on why it stands out.
Would be a good route, not really many landmarks (could be wrong) haven’t used the route in a while despite being my home route. Watercress line at Alton would make use of the steam engines. Would be great timetable with loads of variety on stopping patterns particularly up to Woking, Could only see it being released with 450 159 and 66. Possibly GWR 166 as Ai The main drawback being SWR licence as I’m sure rivet got refused for the island line. Has potential to be very similar to Brighton main line
So, you're suggesting a route, but wanting people to do their own research on it? That's lazy. If you're going to suggest something, you need to do research on it. You can't make a suggestion, and want people to research it themselves. Otherwise there's no point in suggesting anything at all. Look at the pinned thread at the top of this page for ideas in what to look for ("titled Matt's Advice on TSW Suggestions") then carry out the research necessary to make a detailed suggestion that will gain interest. DTG need to know why you think this route is special and what it can bring to TSW.
I don't see many bothering to read past your first post to be frank. As jack#9468 was decent enough to ask you what was notable/ enjoyable about the route, thereby enabling redemption in your subsequent reply, you decided to reply with You then continue with the Cartman-esque replies and the gem of jack#9468 was even after all this, replying and pointing you to DTG Alex stickied thread at the top of the forum, which has Matt's basics for what they are looking for in a suggestion. I suggest that it is you that are the lazy one, failing to do your research. Read the suggestions forum, see what others do and try harder. Finally, I'd apologise to jack#9468. See above.
Probably because, as I said, your first post didn't have anything interesting. The fact you said they should research your suggestion and that they're lazy for not doing so would have turned people away. Be thankful that, despite you being unnecessarily rude, I was showing interest. I want to know why its special, why it stands out. So does everyone else, especially those who may be willing to invest the time and money into it.
Honestly, I don't know why I even bothered, seems I'm just wasting my time. Seems to be a trend with him.
And that is why your " suggestion" will descend into the oblivion of forgotten unread threads very quickly.
Firstly, anything interesting to note about the route? Why this and not Waterloo to portsmouth or woking to Southampton? You can't suggest a route without knowing anything about it. You need to imagine you are pitching this to the devs, you've submitted a tiny suggestion compared to some other fleshed out suggestions. Why should they pick yours? Also chill with the replies, they were meant in good faith and you replied with hostility, go outside, sniff some grass and come back and chill, we're all friends here
