[resolved] Live Map Problem Still Not Fixed

The new live map, in which by the way I think is really well designed, has had rhe same problem since TSW5 launch. The Map, almost every session freezes on the 3rd or 4th time I open it. Its incredibly irritating as to close it o have to turn off my controller. And I play a lot of freemode during timetable mode and this means I can't plan routes it REALLY NEEDS TO BE SOLVED SOON..........is anyone else having this problem????

 

It is great to have an improved map with actual train station names on it and it is nice to have detailed train information. I recently got held up at a red light, there were several trains ahead and I checked them out with the map and found one said it was off track, so I deleted it and it solved the problem. However, I can open the map and without warning it hang, it locks you into the map mode unable to do anything in the map or click out of it, I think I can trigger the legend and that is it, sometimes the map will zoom out and when you try and zoom back in, it zooms you back out again. I have to hammer several buttons on the controller for about a minute till eventually it lets me out of map mode.

 

Yes and this means not being able to plan routes when using my own trains. So irritatinh

 

I don't use my own trains or free roam, I am 100% focused on doing or completing timetables and scenarios, but I could imagine it would be annoying if the map is hanging when you need to plan your route. I can complete several runs in timetable per sitting and I am sure to run into the map problem at least once. For me the map is good, but still very basic and it should have been in TSW years ago.

 

In my experience the map freezes when you open it to your curser being over a name ‘Platform 3’ for example. If you turn off the names (X on Xbox), it unfreezes.

 

That works every time for me aswell just press X and turn labels off

So try Pressing Square and report back what happens

No worries it annoyed me for ages I kept thinking it froze and closing the game down (once when I was an hour up the ECML on an intermodal) and now if I open the map and it freezes I just hit X and removed the names and it's back to normal completely forgot about that till you mentioned it so I hope it works for you

Things have actually gotten worse in my humble opinion on the Xbox Series X. Now, the highlight on any train / signal / label has become very intermittent and jittery, a bit like the cab textures when they poke through another texture, flashing on and off the screen, unable to interact with any elements of the selection. This new issue also leads to the style of map crash we know and love. It’s just rubbish having to constantly restart the game, and I love the free roam feature but it’s just getting unusable. Hope to see some movement on this soon.

All well and good if it’s the track label you get stuck on, but what about a signal? My run up the BML had to end in force quitting the game this evening as I got stuck watching my train speed towards a red from the map. Absolutely no way out of this view (Xbox Series X)

 

What I do is turn controller off and on and it lets me close the map but still doesn't allow me to have a functional map. It stops gameplay so....
