Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition! This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition. Rules: TSC only shots allowed. Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes. You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish. 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory. Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves). The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge). The Judge of the week's decision is final. We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. Please keep chat to an absolute minimum. Entries will close by end of Friday, 07th February 2025 and will be judged by me, Limeyfox. In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 17:00 on Sunday 09th February 2025 a new thread will be created using the results of this weeks poll. The theme for this week is: Changing Tracks Feel free to interpret the theme however you wish.

Phew, long work week here. I was never a fan of Friday closure. Let's see if I have something nice. Bit of a struggle because switches aren't particularly an area of mine to capture.
Well, here is a Class 37 at Glenfinnan about to change tracks. The goal is to pick up the consist at the station.
Third best I found in reasonable time is another British scene, one of the junctions on Edinburgh-Glasgow. This 57 is joining the passenger main from the northern lines.

OMG if that is not the best ever crossover shot then I throw in the towel. Blazin that is absolutely stunning, be proud. {EDIT} In my personal opinion that is possibly one of the best shots I have ever seen in any of the comps. How to compose a winning shot - look no further. Brilliant composition of choice of subject and angles / lighting, I am in awe, thanks for sharing.
Wow thank you very much Craigie, that is very high praise coming from you!! Don’t put your own shots down though mate, you have some excellent submissions as usual and at the end of the day it’s up to the judge of this week (Limeyfox) to decide and yours are most definite contenders for a podium placement in my eyes so I wouldn’t throw in that towel just yet!
Right, great to see a good selection of entries by the deadline! Thank you everyone, I have enjoyed looking at these. The theme this week was Changing Tracks which had a few possible ways to be interpreted. I’ll do a podium finish in reverse order. THIRD PLACE I love OldAlaskaGuy ’s switching shot, it has a gritty workaday quality. The implication is of back-and-forth shunting, changing lines etc. The dog is presumably leaving tracks in the foreground as well SECOND PLACE The theme was nicely interpreted by Craigie-C with the tamper scene. Having been out working on such machines in the past, you really appreciate how much the track can be moved and changed, and the sheer power required to do it. I hope those engineers are wearing ear defenders! FIRST PLACE - THIS WEEK’S WINNER I can’t go anywhere other than Blazin and the Glasgow Central shot, that is superb. Even with some dated models it shows how you can create a visually exciting image with lots of motion and angles etc. Well done! I’d also like to make an honourable mention: - OldAlaskaGuy ’s rail barge is a really intriguing scene. I like rail operations on/around water and the viewpoint from ground/eye-level. Congratulations to Blazin and let’s see where next week takes us.
Thank you very much for 1st place and congratulations to the other winners!! The new thread is now up with the theme of Tough Climb. Have fun! https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/unofficial-screenshot-competition-week-6.89078/
