Can anyone explain how the timer on the left works? Sometimes it's red, sometimes it's green, it can have a + or - before it, sometimes I'm told I left a station too early. It seems like the red countdown is how long I have to get to the next station, but after that I'm confused. Any help is appreciated.
I think when you depart a station, the timer is running down (e.g. -03:00 = You have 3 minutes left to get to the next station). If you reach the station and you are more than one minute early (e.g. -01:25), the timer will be shown in red. If you depart now, you will leave too early. As soon as you are less than one minute early, the counter becomes green and you can depart without getting a penalty for that. Any positive number (+01:00 for example) tells you that you are late.
