Does anyone have any thoughts on what is going on here? I'm chugging along quite happily in my scenario which involves driving a CL08 shunter. The scenario has run nicely for 25 minutes and I have been driving at 20mph and have arrived at my first destination in Tees Yard. After a brief signal check I then set off again at full line speed (15 mph) for approx 2 minutes when something strange happens. I immediately lose revs and my speed drops to around 5mph before the revs kick in again. However, this time, no matter what I do I cannot now drive any faster than 7.8mph for the rest of the scenario. Most strange. This seems to be location triggered and nothing happens to the brakes or any other controls to cause the loss of power. It is almost as if this is a random event with part of the engine failing and the loco, subsequently, losing 50% of its oomph. So what is occurring?
Some questions about that... Which route? Was this a scenario that came with TSW OR did you make this OR lastly did someone create it but it is not a part of TSW (ex Creators Club I think is the name of what they call it)?
Which route? Tees Valley. Which Scenario? One that I have made myself using the in-game Scenario Creator. Player loco? BPO Class 08. (As I said this drives perfectly normally until about 30 minutes in a 45 minute long scenario). Player Formation? Added to the game by my formation mod. Need to release the brakes on the 8F at the start of the scenario to get the formation to move. Have checked after the 'event' and the steam loco brakes are still off.
Now that's a good idea I have a Save available from just 2 minutes before the "event" so I will restart the scenario tomorrow from this, uncouple, and then see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion. (I wasn't smart enough to think of that myself ).
Also if you've been doing 20 the whole time it's entirely possible there's fault simulation, perhaps an overheated engine - they're limited to 15
It is the 8F that is having the issue and the 'event' is timed and not location driven. Basically the brakes come on on both the loco and tender and, from that point on, the CL08 is dragging the kettle. So I guess my "dead" 8F isn't quite dead after all?
