About With the recent annoucement of the caltrain licence removal I though i would revamp my older Peninsula Commute Sp Diesel Era. If a remaster was to be done i beleve doing it in SP could be a good choise as by the look of thing for now doing a modern one would be un-likley i also beleve that the SP licence is held by UP (though i could be wrong) which should help getting it eaiser I would immagine. Route would be 50 mi (80.4 km) Rollingstock Fairbanks morse FM H-24-66 EMD GP9 EMD SDP45 Pullman & standard steel - suburban Pullman-standard & American car and foundry - gallery (SP Gallery car with incandescen lighting) (ex-metra 1960s era probably simular to what the SP units would of looked like) (3700 - 3709 built by Pullman Standard with incandescent lighting) (3710 - 3730 built by American Car & Foundry with incandescent lighting) (3731 - 3745 built by Pullman Standard with fluroscent lighting)
Good shout, Jack. Going back in time seems the best means for DTG to overcome the increasing wall of licensing issues. Otherwise US (and Canadian) content in TSW will wither and die.
Worth noting that a trainmaster would be really hard to do up to specs, given that only 1 still exists (In Canada on static preservation) and prime mover sounds are not gonna be very easy to come by. (This was actually discussed recently on the TSC discord, as no one has really made one for any train sim)
Yes, yes, yes! I've been suggesting this route for a while. The SP FM H-24-66 Trainmaster (in both Black Widow and Bloody Nose liveries) is a must-have loco for this route. Also, SP operated Alco RS-32s in yard and duties on this route and S4 switchers for yard duties, so those are a possibility, as are the pair of steam generator-equipped SD9 "Cadillacs" that they used on this line (another must-have for an SP route). The FM H-24-66s were retired in 1975, so I think that this route should be set in the 1950s-1960s instead. Also, the extension to Gilroy should be included.
Prime mover sounds might be difficult as you said but these engines were and are still used in marine applications (especially naval) might be worth while looking there, this engine is still in production.
