BR often used to stop trains at stations where the platform was shorter than the train. If that was the case, it was common for the Driver to stop the loco just beyond the platform end to get as many coaches onto the platform as possible - that's what I do at Layton if I have a long train. The route still accepts it as being the station stop.
Continues to impress even after nearly a year of playing this route... came across 47 609 "Fire Fly" for the first time the other day... really love how they've gone the extra mile and done the nameplate for this loco
Just a curious question, would It be possible to have the 150/2 layer into Blackpool branches if the train ever got a full new update from the ground up to also make it sound much more better to drive in game?
It's possible but not in Regional Railway colours, it would have to be in their original Provisional colours
Not to be pedantic but 150/2s were introduced in 1987 (isn't BPO 1986?) and they came out in the "Sprinter" version of Provincial (not that one used by the 150/1s and 14xs). There are some reskins online so just needs someone to make a mod
The scoring on Put a Gronk on it seems to be bugged. 12,500 needed for a platinum & 9,900 for a gold but lucky to get much over 8k.
I can't find a feedback thread for Layers, If I've missed it I apologise. Yesterday I fired up the Blackpool Branches DLC and chose to remove the class 40 layer. Picked a service I wanted, spawned in...and the first AI train I saw was hauled by a Class 40. Thinking I'd not confirmed I went back to the menu and chose to remove the class 40 and made sure I confirmed it. Chose another service...and again the first AI train I saw was a class 40. Is this a known issue with layers?

So apparently a patch for TSW5 dropped today improving passenger behaviour. I would like to thank DTG for this as the constant singing of rude songs by my passengers was incredibly distracting.
I have to keep the cab blind down on the Pacer as they keep mooning through it. Outrageous behaviour!
I was driving 2F13 from Blackpool South to Ormskirk, date set to current day which meant a chance of snow with dynamic weather. It started snowing as I was coming up to St Annes-on-the-Sea. By the time I was at Burscough Junction, the ground was covered in snow. It then suddenly started raining and then the snow disappeared altogether. I finished the run with it still raining. Normally, when it snows, the snow stays for all eternity until you exit to the menu, at least in my experience. I'm wondering if there's maybe been a change in dynamic weather in TSW5, or if it's something I've just not noticed before.

On PS4 pro wiith TSW5 and Blackpool branches, selecting the 6P30 Stanlow to Burnt Naze ICI timetable results in a blue screen crash, before the service loads.

TSW5 on PS4 PRO with Blackpool Branches. I tried two scenarios each one resulted in a blue screen crash before the scenario started. In the timetable I tried to start a couple of services, but there were more blue screen crashes before the service loaded. I started Blackpool Branches with TWS4 and the scenarios loaded ok. Completed the oiled up scenario with TSW4.
Blackpool Branches is still unplayable with TSW5 on PS4 pro. Crashes on timetable and scenario before the service is loaded. Seems ok with TSW4 and PS4 pro

Okay. When u try and load a service in do u have any certain livieries from the creator's club for the trains that could be causing the crashes aswel? But if not then It could just be a game thing. As I haven't experienced any crashes so far as I play on ps5 so.
hello may of been mentioned but when doing the pacing around journey, i did the 1E10 Blackpool Leeds trip out of sync and got put in the WCMLOS 101 when i was expecting a pace maker. regards phil
That's just because there is a certain percentage chance of a 101 subbing in for a pacer on the journey I believe. If you reload you should get a pacer at some stage although idk what the percentages are
A couple of weeks ago BPO was running ok on TSW5 for me, and I haven't added any more liveries. Seems like an update may of upset something. The loading screens run once you choose a service, then as it's about to start it blue screens.
thanks that was my thoughts, i got there after a few reloads and after the NTP 101 finally got a 142. until the other day I thought that the journeys were linked as a story and could only do them in order. that said i have found that doing them in timetable mode wont give you the award in the journey section. I've done all but 2 of the class 47 route learner timetables, but none are done on journey mode, but still show the points there. as a last one i did the 142 debacle scenario to finish off the journey chapter and got this at the end, note the points awarded to which route ?? they didn't go on NTP but a bit of an odd one
Doing a run in timetable mode that is also part of journey mode has never awarded the completion for journey mode. However, if you do the run in journey mode, it also completes the timetable mode run. TSW has always been like that.
Thought that may be the case, still new to TSW and learning as i go, it something to keep in mind for when i get round to running other routes to save doing them twice.
Service 0B04 with 08. Tells you to stop at Blackpool north carriage siding 3. I got there in position. First time I stopped it didn't work. Tried again moving closer etc and didn't work. Now doesn't recognise I have stopped and completed that objective. Playing on ps5 console And yes I know with these objectives they sometimes want you to stop bang on.
How far away were you from the stop marker? Might give it a go when I get home if I have time and see if I have the same issue.
Had to rejigg things and went closer yet nothing happened. So just quit the service. Also lots of red light waiting issues.
Have been struggling hard to get a gold medal on the "Put a gronk on it" scenario. Didn't speed and there were no time objectives but was still a good few hundred points off a gold medal let alone a platinum? Is there something I'm missing or is this another one of those scenarios? Unfortunately ruins my attempts to complete journeys to gold which is frustrating!
I couldn't get better than a silver either, and there is at least one other instance that I remember seeing somebody else post about. This isn't even one where you can roll around a little bit to make up the difference. There also wasn't any obvious place (to me) where points should have been awarded, but weren't. An impossible gold, I'm afraid.
Played one of the substitute runs with 101 and have to say loved it albeit there's one issue and I think this is present also on wcmlos. When I finally reached Preston and opened doors, the guard buzzer in cab kept going off. Tried everything to stop it but it wouldn't. Needs looking at.
No matter what, whenever in the 101 or 142 the guards buzzer will sound when you reach the last stop. It'll go off while the score screen appears, but it should stop when you return to free roam.
It goes off before the score screen continuously. It's continuous in it's buzzing. And yes, I do get it happening going off once when it's reached score screen but still.
PS5 Pro console I've started to notice that the 142 service has a problem with the smoothness of the image movement...it jerks even when driving, especially in the Blackpool North area and around Preston. When I drive the same service with a class 101, it's practically smooth...that is, in the case of services with Class 47 etc. I also notice the same problem on the Preston - Carlisle map.
Blackpool branches is now unplayable for me was running smoothly but after it updated today everything is blurry and very laggy
The guard mode can also be launched with the Class 101 2-car variant from the timetable service list - presumably because it has the same services as the Pacer, and there’s no way yet to tell the game that not all substituted trains for a service support guard mode. Seems like a small change to the core/UI will be needed to resolve that. If you do indeed start guard mode with a Class 101, it spawns you at the on-foot spawn location for the station the service starts at. You can then identify your train using the 2D map, watch it close its doors and be permanently stuck at “wait for the next stop” without driving off. 2D map status: Stop movement locked.
Tried a loco hauled service and the MK1 BG guards whistle blows although this does not start the train. Your whistle still makes the train leave. Not had many tickets checks though as of yet. Also the MK1 BG seems to have a weird audio level as the external sound drops very low compared to the rest of the rake on series X as you step into it
Same on NYC Trenton and why no conductor mode on 101 3 car or mk 1 and 2 coaches with the Scotsman or class 08 and 09
The 08 is a shunter so that's why it doesn't have conductor mode. As for the 101 3 car, the only reason the 2 car variant has conductor mode is because it substitutes for the 142.
Had multiple crashes on PS4 when selecting the Class 31. And after that the Preston Docker with the Class 20 as well. This is weird because before it the game ran smoothly. I had all relevant DLCs installed which layer onto the route. Later I uninstalled SoS btu the problem persisted. Will try again. with DLCs incrementally installed to see what might be the culprit here.
Or could be ongoing core issues and instability. I’ve taken a load of DLC out (all but one of the US routes) and have hardly any mods installed but it made not one iota of difference to the performance.
On Xbox Series X is a stutter fest. Ok, the graphics are a lot better than the TSW average, but performances are not good at all...
Been playing it on Series X since day of release, and still do at least one run a day on it today, and (barring the odd hesitation around Layton) I've never had any stutter or performance issue with this route.
