I just purchased the Long Island Railroad Route, however I'm having a problem getting the train more then a few yard when it shuts down because at 7.5 MPH it says I'm speeding and shut the train off. How can I overcome this so I can get moving through route? Love the route as it's the area where I was born back in 1945.
I'm sorry, I can't replicate your problem. As an aside, the route appears to be badly optimised and has low frame rates. What scenario are you running, or if in Quick Drive what are you start and finish locations?
Pardon my interference, but aren't the manuals easier to access with Settings > Tools > View Manuals in the game? It can save a lot of faffing. John
Click on this link to view the manual. DTG_-_Long_Island_Rail_Road_Route_Add-On_-_Route_Manual_-_EN.pdf This link is available from the Routes Steam Store page. It is in the right-hand menu just scroll down until you see it. Most routes have it there. You need to open Steam in your browser for the link to work as for some unknown reason opening from the Steam App seems not to work.
If you are speeding, the train will force you into shutdown. Are you driving in a place where you should not exceed 5 MPH? The train will do the same thing if you try to go past 80 on the main line, I believe, or if you don't respond slowing down, say, coming into Jamaica where you have to run at 15 (I think IRL it is 20 or 30 now, so a manual fix for this would be handy since DTG is replicating a specific period where it's 15). Read the manual to learn how to recover from this "shutdown" state so you don't stop completely. Or just find it in your files and open it normally, and it will open in whatever your PDF viewer is (including your browser if that is it).
The M7 train has a comprehensive signalling system which you have to learn how to use it by reading the manual that I have put a link to above.
Correct. I have played the route. It's a challenge to drive the train, and in one scenario it was funny to see AI trains able to do things we are not.
