As regard to the latest patch. Can someone add some clarification as to what this means in the patch notes please? Thank you.
Just a heads up to Harry. The latest patch notes bullet points and headings are a bit mixed up. Cheers.
I would hazard a guess and say it’s for the night trains which were shown as top speed 75 MPH when these were actually timed at 80 MPH. Of course as this was purely a “comfort” restriction, were quite in order to run up to the maximum speed of the slowest vehicle in consist, when making up time. As implemented in the WCMLOS timetable it was pretty much impossible to avoid running late at 75 MPH. Edit, actually no. Having read the patch notes it isn’t that and what’s been said makes no sense at all.
A few of them are weird; "Added DMU and Freight timetables for Gen 9 consoles." I thought it already had them. They've also formatted it wrong so it looks like East Coast Mainline is a patch note for Shap, not a separate heading.
They really need to expand on this one as well: * Turned off background/static AI layers to improve crashes on Gen 9 consoles Does that mean all rolling stock and locos that are sat in sidings are now removed ?
If honest I was confused too but I think it's in regards to the scenarios not limiting speed limit depending on what you're driving.
Also mentioned static stock on Gen9 has been removed? I haven't been on it yet to check what that actually means. But I hope the static AI stock in sidings and stations hasn't been removed. Would certainly ruin the immersion. Unless DTG were meant to write Gen8?
Hi everyone - we've checked that a couple of notes needed some extra clarity and correcting, so we should be updating these in just a moment on the list. The changes are: Added DMU and Freight timetables for Gen 8 consoles. (Originally the notes showed this was for Gen 9) Added extra Journey Mode including Freight and DMU services (Gen8, Gen9 and PC) and Shunting (Gen 9 and PC only). (Not included on original patch notes) Fixed scenarios displaying the wrong speed limit. (This previously mentioned the full route having speed restrictions) Thanks folks!
But what about this one which others as well as myself are concerned about???? “* Turned off background/static AI layers to improve crashes on Gen 9 consoles” Is this on all platforms? Removing all static stock from PC etc will be a massive immersion breaker and just make routes empty, lifeless and very much unrealistic.
The allegedly Gen 9 'removed' services are still there on PS5 at the mo.... just watched a Blackpool North bound 101 leave platform 1 at Preston......
It would have been helpful if DTG had explained that in the patch notes as it seems there are a few confused people lol
This is in response to Preston to Carlisle only. So the route on my Series S has run good and I think only had 2 crashes early doors. Last few patches have improved it still and I've not had a crash since, even though I've done a fair few runs. I'll need to go on this when I'm back home, but it sounds like I may have lost some of the AI and static stock. The best routes in the game for me are the ones that are busy and feel alive. Nothing worse than running past multiple empty sidings, just makes the route lifeless. Never had an issue on any route on TSW4. So do me a favour DTG, give me that version of the game back. None of what was packaged in TSW5 is that critical and worth what we currently have now. I don't use conductor mode, route hopped probably twice and the map hangs more often than not, so I none of it is critical to the main purpose of the game for me.
