    You could be right. I stopped using snow altogether because of how much I hate the look of the trees in snow, so I might be out of the loop.

    There was prior to TSW4 a great mod which gave us properly leafless trees in winter. I hope we get it back.

    I think you can have them, the issue is what DTG (or indeed UE4) uses to define winter. They use the Astrological system rather than Meteorological and therefore class anything up to December 20th as Autumn, hence the leaves staying on the trees. I’d love to be able to set an intermediate state of 50% ish leaves but that isn’t possible. However, you can use GodMode to remove leaves on the fly by making sure Autumn trees are set to 0 and Winter Trees set to full.

    This is from the UK Met Office website that details the Astrological system from 2022;

    Hope that helps!

    Yesterday started my first flight on a DB BR 628, can you tell me why the magnetorail brake is needed and under what scenarios to use it? And is there a hotkey for it? I don't understand its purpose, because with it the train brakes quite fast, but the speed doesn't drop to zero.

    The 628 has very very powerful brakes, equipped with discbrakes. (You can make the brakecalculation).

    The magnetic brakes are active when puting the brake valve into "schnellbremsung" and also if you switch the selector to on!. They support the discbrakes to reduce the brake distance.

    I've noticed I feel comfortable braking with the train brake. In the case of the magnetorail brake, however, I am just curious about its actual purpose. Both types of brakes brake very effectively, so I don't see the benefit of using them at the same time.

    It's only used in emergencies.

    As a rule, coaches and multiple units in Germany need to be fitted with magnetic track brakes to be authorized for speeds above 140 km/h to provide the "extra punch" for stopping the train within the regular braking distance. For the BR 628.x it is not really necessary, especially within the speed range of the Niddeltalbahn, but always a nice-to-have in emergencies.

    If you are interested in the brake system of the BR 628.x, you can check out this quite new video (in German):

    I guess it is kinda similar to eddy brakes on ICE3, tho I am sure those are way more powerful... I believe in-game those are done on ICE3 on Kassel Wurzburg

    Thanks all, I have read up on this type of brake, they are used in an emergency or as a parking brake.

    one time as I was waiting at Petrzalka station (Bratislava) for my train to Vienna, I got to see the driver testing a brake like that, I think... it was Desiro ML... and he did it a couple times, not sure if sth was wrong or if he just wanted to be sure :)

    (Linear) eddy current brakes are a bit like the super-plus-fancy-gadget that can be used instead of the magnetic track brakes on high speed trains, yes. They don't rely on friction, have no wear, no noise, but are quite expensive to install and operate.
