Still unplayable piece of natural fertilizer. How can you play a game that tries to [deleted; inappropriate language - DTG Harry] your ears in every way? What is beeping in cab? Even with all safety systems turned off, just in the middle of a ride there is a beeping sound born from nowhere that can’t be turned off. You can turn off the whole locomotive, but the beeping will not go away. It's not alerter, it's not ATC/ACSES it's just beeping of hell!
what is the performance of the route as before it was in red at new york (which was around in tsw 4). Or has their been a optimisation for so little fps?
So sudden beeping! It looks like this bug appear in every rolling stock that player drive at the moment when the player and the AI train nearby pass the signals. And if the signal for the AI triggers the ATC/ACSES, then the sound of this alarm appears in the player's cab! And does not disappear until the AI leaves a certain radius (possibly the radius of signal calculations for the player's train). My record is a triple beeping at the same time in tunnel! Also fix the freaking door in NJT cabcar! It's open from release.
I don't know which topic to choose. Also does it make sense to leave reports on NEC at all? Does anyone even plan to fix this? ACS-64 from Boston route doesn't properly work on NYT, cause it have infinite approach medium in cab(all signals are clear so far). Woah, OK, now it shows clear on approach signal. So it's unplayable with safety systems on. Also it says "doors open" on display after I closed them. Really nice work DTG. Almost amazing. The purpose of the experiment was to establish whether there would be a beeping in the cab of the ACS-64 from Boston Sprinter. The experiment was partially successful: + No beeping. - in-cab signaling shows the weather forecast instead of signal aspects.
the new conductor mode doesn't even work from my time playing around with it. can't get the "open doors" instruction to complete despite all the doors on the correct side of the train being open.
upon switching to a completely different service, the initial "open doors" instruction finally completes when doors are all open except all passengers on board, un board the train leaving it empty. When it's time to close doors, the instruction reads "wait for next stop" but the train doesn't move. this is incredibly bugged and should NOT have been implemented on this route if it wasn't working correctly. do better, dovetail. even tried inserting and removing the key from each car until all the lights weren't illuminated, and no progress. Also, on the 2D map, the service lists its current status as "stop movement locked".
Tried this route again to see if the bugs are fixed. The safety alert sounds from the cab car seems to have gone off. The trains however are still submerging with the platforms as if it doesn't fit at NY Penn. Seriously DTG, don't add anything stupid for a certain niche market until you fix this route. It's been nearly two years, and yet the routes still in a state despite the timetable improvements last year. We don't even have answers from them on how they even chose to release such a half-baked route to this day. It's not difficult to admit you've messed up, other Devs do it. Honestly will be much appreciated in the long-term.
what's crazy is there was a patch at some point that claimed the alerter beeping was fixed, yet everything was still 100% as bugged as it was before. Just LIES. lmao
Hello Everyone, Has anyone tried the Conductor Mode yet for this route? I tried a timetable service from Trenton to New York Penn in conductor mode and the train didn't move after I pressed the buzzer. And the signal was on green to proceed.
And the question hung in the air: how can you send something to release that doesn't work at all? This route is cursed.
it's more than just this route. terrible business practices all around, for all routes and all content. but yeah, what a shame.
Oh nevermind, I just drive past the cab cars with safety alarms going off. Again, I'm curious to know what priorities lie with it, you completely ignore the servere bugs as players has been feedbacking for nearly two years for only guard mode to appear. Hearing that mode also doesn't work.
Just out of curiosity, the Amfleet Cab Car has both white and red strobe lights, when on the Auto setting it seems to always use the white. What do the two colors represent and are there specific times when you should use one or the other? DW
The strobes served a similar function to modern day flashing ditch/crossing lights; to get people's attention and make them aware a train is coming. They were the alternative signal-safety lights to the mechanically driven "Gyra" or "Mars" lights a lot of railroad equipment had prior to the 1990s. The white strobes were wired to flash automatically whenever either the horn or bell were sounded. The red strobe was only used to indicate a train in distress and would automatically start flashing if the emergency brakes were applied. Some Amtrak equipment, most notably the GE P40DCs, had their strobes removed when flashing ditch lights became standard in 1996. Since the Metroliner cab cars have all been retrofitted with flashing ditch/crossing lights, the strobes are actually redundant. Amtrak just never really bothered to remove them.
Gave the update a try. DTG are already aware but conductor mode is broken. The train refuses to depart and sees tickets that should be invalid as valid. Also I hope this isn't a major ask DTG, but please make the trapdoors on the NJT MultiLevel cars able to be openned by the player or door controls.I have a feeling that the "Open low" buttons on the door panels are supposed to do this but they do not.
The ADU text on all ACS 64 is still entirely unreadable in some (most) lighting conditions. On Boston Sprinter, it is readable. The route does not appear in the route selector when filtering for US routes.
I saw NJT service arrived at New Brunswick with all the doors open. I tell you this route is cursed. The only chance we will see some important fixes is NYT 2.0(exactly how it was with LIRR 2.0).
The conductor mode even after updates do not work. The user spawns to center of the train without any ability to move. This is on PC steam and no mods at all. I tried the "On Foot" also. You can try NY Penn @10:25AM. Service is waiting at track 1(6633 scheduled for 10:29). The moment door key is inserted and mission accepted, it again jumps to the center of the train with no movement possible after that. Camera can be rotated but it gets positioned anywhere but the gameworld.
still broken. Now it just spawns you in stuck inside a coach or under the map. What is going on dovetail…
Which service. Which train. I just loaded into the route with no issue. Im on pc steam. Make sure to remove any mods if you are on pc
As I posted before, the lights on the platform two stations before the station where the airport is located on my way to New York are on, but the platform is completely dark. Are there ghosts or something?
Elizabeth Station platform, heading for New York. All the lights are on under the roof of the platform, but the road is pitch black and creepy.
The beeping, it looks like the alerter soundfile. Maybe a stupid question, how hard it would be to create a mod that would replace the sound for a empty/silent soundfile? Sure, you wouldn't be able to run with alerter (because of no audible warning), but I take that over the constat beeping everytime...
Cab car dynamic brakes DO NOT WORK! The "B" positions on the controller do nothing; the only way to adjust speed, or respond to the meshuggeneh ATC alerts, is to use the crude and brutal manually-lapped train brake, which most of the time means slowing to a near stop. Also, the signal lights are practically invisible until you're right on top of them- too late to react. This route is LOVED beyond repair. Good thing I only paid five bucks for it.
As far as I remember that is, weirdly enough, actually prototypical. The Bombardier MultiLevel cab cars share the same standardized throttle controller with the ALP-46, but they can't actually control the dynamic brakes, making that section essentially useless. EDIT: Here's a post from Matt about this from a couple of years ago.
The signaling in the cabin car also does not work properly. The PCS is constantly on, the position of the pantographs does not show correctly, the door open indicator light does not work.
yeah I'm so tired of this. like it's been YEARS at this point and this route is still so bugged... such a shame.
What’s most frustrating is these small bugs could be fixed in one afternoon if they’d just bother to do it. They clearly just don’t care.
If there’s no money to be made, why fix it? Move on to the next product they shove out and forget the old stuff, that’s there motto pretty much..
It's a real shame how jank NEC is. Boston Sprinter and the new Boston route are very well done, and it's a shame that the same level of attention and care wasn't given to NEC.
Played it for the first time in a couple months and now there are more issues than before. 1. Some ai train drivers or T posing while driving the train. 2. Still the alerters beeping on ai trains. 3. An invisible wall at north Elizabeth track 4 which the AI can walk through but not the player. 4. Npcs falling into the platform and then flying you around 5 feet high and about 10 feet away in a random direction if you touch them.
As of 5/5, the bug has not been fixed PC version The fluorescent lights are on and the floor is pitch black It's disgusting
Will anything be done to fix the alerter constantly going off in the AI trains? I really hope DTG can address this issue in tomorrow's roadmap as it has gone on long enough. I played a Jersey Avenue service - X318 from the reduced timetable for NYT and have not noticed any AI alerters from AI services in that particular run. I wonder if the AI alerter issue has something to do with the improved timetable or does it just depend on which service you are operating. For the most part, this AI issue needs to be fixed across the board for all services that operate on this route
Since Matt mentioned it on the stream I will mention it here. have been testing a patch for NYT for alerters going off on AI trains on Xbox (9 hours and PC (8.5hours) I'm happy to report did not hear any AI alerters at all This is really good news for us all as this has haunted this route. Don't have a time frame on when that fix will go out. just wanted to update you all.
From what I've noticed after several runs, I suspect the alerter issue is tied to in some way to the spawn portals. All of the trains that are present on the map when you load a service do not have their alerters beeping, be it NJT or Amtrak. However, as time progresses and more trains enter the map via the portals, those "new" trains have their alerters beeping, for whatever reason. Sometimes only on the trailing cab/locomotive (if push-pull), sometimes on both. The longer the session runs, the more trains enter the map. After a few hours, almost every train that was on the map at the beginning of the session has left and been replaced by new spawns that are beeping away until practically the entire map is screaming at you. I'm also wondering if the issue is tied to or bled into the Acela DLC, because I've come across the alerter beeping on the Boston - Providence route as well, though ONLY on Acela trains. Have not come across it on any of the MBTA trains, luckily.
That is good to hear that the alerter issue will soon be fixed and the patch for it is currently in testing. There is definitely hope for NYT getting fixed. I also agree with the Boston Providence alerter issue, once or twice I have encountered a passing Acela train with it's alerter going off. Part of me thinks it has something to do with the Acela DLC, but then again, some update or patch triggered the alerters if I'm correct because even the metroliner cab car on NYT has that alarter bug.
Big update for TSW5 released today. Part of the patch notes include the below. I definitely can't wait to play NYT New York-Trenton • Fixed an issue where AI train alerters are all going off incorrectly.
At least on a service from Trenton to New York that I did after today's patch there really wasn't a single alert sounded during the entire route, including at New York Penn, where it was constant...
I tested NYT for many hours by just free roaming at Penn in the past you would previously hear the alerter sounds,I can say since I have tested the patch on both Xbox and PC, no aleter sounds heard.
I just did a timetable service with an Amtrak Northeast Regional between New York Penn Station and Trenton with mods installed for Amtrak and NJT, and while there were some frame drops, most likely due to the mods, I can confirm there was not a single alerter for the AI trains. I am so glad the devs fixed this bug
IT'S TRUE! IT'S TRUE! Just did the full Trenton to NY Penn. Not a single alerter (except mine.) I will have to rediscover this route without all the screeching!
