I absolutely bloody love blackpool branches and wcmlos. They are fantastic routes. Full of life. I do have some queries though which have been interesting to me: What does this route indicator mean? Fast line and what direction? Why is the buzzer continuously sounded when you apply handbrake on 101? Why do you get buzzer signal at end of service on Pacer and 101. Why is there no aws on 08 and no dsd on 101. Before croston theres a route whjch diverges and also then goes underneath. What line is this? Its on map below. When they say north junction and south junction, what does this mean. Is the junction south of station etc. Or north. What does this mean below? And what route does the driver take. How does he know? Is this a glitch? Its on 101 over the guage. Looks like masking tape. Why did just trains include 1993 variants of Pacer etc when route is set in late 1980s? Is it just for fans of pacers and to bulk it out? Why are mail trains and steel trains etc limited to certain speeds? What's with the tape over handle on 87. Why is this? I saw a video whjch showed pleasure beach station being built. How do I go about seeing this in game. Is it dependent on which month game is set? There's also some great Easter eggs in there featuring members of team which I found quite amusing at Blackpool South etc. What are fixed distant boards also and why do you get an aws warning? This is present I believe at Blackpool South and Ormskirk. Need to learn signals on this route as don't really understand ground signals nor semaphore. If anyone can help me out please do. Why can you not activate the PA when stationary in cab of Pacer. Why is there no door control buttons in Pacer cab. Loving the route so far. Can't wait for next one! We also need announcements on the wcmlos in Pacer. Hope these come about.
Don’t know for this specific instance, but that can be a line letter - I think there are some examples of this on CCL/GWE (but may be numbers)/WCMLS too where there are like boards above each line with a letter, and a little box prior which gives your letter Generally would mean north or south of the stated location, but would really just be what it was called in the sectional appendix The driver would go over the points but they don’t really choose a route as such. B2 will be a route/line name/indicator and the 2 white dots are just a clear signal for (I think) low speed or it’s because it’s a ground signal Is that not sunlight? Longer braking distance, generally Probably just for realism - irl to make holding a metal handle more comfortable. Similar to tape put on hokey stick handles Guard operated doors
I don't think it's sunlight as it should surely move etc depending on your location in proximity to sun. When I moved it didn't move etc. Was quite odd and didn't have it before.
I don’t have the route so can’t test - just answered things from my general railway knowledge/ other routes. However, if you try perhaps spawning it at night (so no sun) and then turn on the cab light, whether it appears or not could help narrow it down
Pictures look great, and was semi-considering it, but it’s not really my kind of route. I like ones that are nostalgic for me mainly, or are at least a train I’ve seen irl. For example same route, but stations etc. updated to be ‘modern’ and stick a pendo on it would be up my alley
Yeah well, maybe if jt do go down that route then your wishes will be fulfilled. And I wasn't too keen on whole era but now it's gotten me hooked.
It’s the mastery reward. Also any questions about signalling could probably be answered by this video
I may be wrong with this, but as the 08 is a shunter and therefore not used for long journeys (they are typically found in yards and sidings doing short shunting movements), there's no need for AWS or DSD.
I believe it does have dsd but aws no. Tom from jt mentioned on a stream. The pedal is on floor but not very noticeable
Pretty sure the 08 (and I think the 101?) do have DSD of sorts when if you leave the driver seat the brakes do apply as the foot switch is released but you can't turn it on or off. I definitely remember it being a thing on most of the BR stock? Unless I'm going crazy
I didn't even know dsd was in the 08 until I saw someone mention it. And when I got up from the seat it never seemed to apply brakes etc. Pacer is a bit different of course.. and I find that quite unique. As on the Pacer you don't exactly depress the pedal, it's always meant to be down.
There’s DSD on the 08 and the deadman’s handle on the 101 which is why you have to keep the throttle pressed down, the same tech is used on the 1972 stock
JT included all 3 variants of the class 142 Pacer in case players wanted to drive them on other routes. Because that's how they were built in reality. The doors were guard/conductor controlled. No, you need to complete the mastery for the route and then activate the layer in the mastery section. A safety feature to remind you that the handbrake is on.
Further to this, thought you may find this of interest samuelpower2001 Not the station in your example, don't know which one it is, but this image shows the tracks out of KGX being lettered
