Wcmls Major Update (december 2024)

I had it the same with North Wembley I did log a ticket for it I did, if everyone else logs tickets hopefully something will be done about it. I was doing a Watford to London Euston run. I got a very good reply from DTG Lukas so thanks for the quick response as well Lukas!

 

Are using the 5 car or 4 car formation I'm on xbox x so its not the same but the 5 car formation kept crashing but the 4 car was ok

 

Yeah, i've managed to complete 2C15 service now whit no more other crashes, but i saved at some station in case would crashed again

 

I've reported it when I was given the option on my console. Whether anything is actually done about it is another thing, the information is out there for DTG to do something about. All the long term commitments to the WCMLS seem to be evaporating and it is just becoming a complete pain to enjoy. Anyway thats just for me personally...

Interestingly, yes, it was a a 5 car 710! Such a bugged route, where glitches are so unspecific.

Class 350 AI services are broken, tail lights at driver cab and the PIS display "Not in service" instead of the destination. This was one IA service to Tring caught when waiting to depart Watford in one 710 service to Euston

 

Had the same as well. ALso seen the same on 390s when they are entering London Euston it will say Destination Notin service and then Next stop Milton Keynes. Broke it all again. How on earth it has happened by fixing a somewhat simple fix has now broken many other things.

 

That's the dangers of software. Fix one thing, it breaks another.

Although, its happening way too often to be believable.

 

Entirely speculation on my part but I believe Liam is doing the majority(?) of the fixing and if it's just him I can see why it's taking a while. Also speculation, but they could possibly be waiting for the release of the Cardiff City route to utilise things like the new Class 150. This is probably just copium on my part and I do completely agree that the lack of communication regarding these updates has been ridiculous.

 

You make very valid points indeed. its a shame that no one from DTG can be bothered to give its customers an update.

 

That last update really messed the 350s up all lights are on at the front and nothing on the back all destination read london euston on not in service I just a london to Birmingham and destination was not in service they fix one problem but create 10 more

 

Obviously no testing was done on the route before the patch release .

 

Crashed again just outside of Euston...driving a stopper all the way from MK too! It's like whack-a-mole with this route, one problem fixed, another handful created.

 

You forgot to add broken Refresh Referb scenario.

 

Yep it crashed for me about a mile outside Euston on a Tring to Euston service. Mind you it was heavy sleet and I was streaming live to YT at the time (PS5). The framerate dropped to 23FPS then the PS5 said hasta la vista baby!!!

 

DTG Matt can you please help me ?
I've been trying to do the MCML South, Rail Journey, All Weather Wagon scenario 6M77 in mid December but find regardless what I do with sand ect my train stalls on the hill at the beginning of the route and loose traction and roll backwards. Mainly because of the weight of the train and the icy track. Can you please look to see if it is possible to do this scenario and advise what I need to do to get out of Acton Depot.

I have done this i think had to brake the speed limit to make up and over the short steep grade

 

Just a pendolino run have they done something to it going 125 and feels like you only 50 feels slow. Also with that aws just before Milton Keynes station no matter what speed you it pently brakes me

 

Apologies Liam, just been talking on TSC Discord to someone and they said that this is basically been ruled out? If so, understandable cause of the GWE Remaster but still a massive disappointment as the amount of missing services would give it more life on the AI side.
Again, thanks for your hard work with WCML as where it was released it was in a terrible horrible state and it is in a much more better state now thankfully because of you

 

Just noticed that post-Mildmay release, there's a few 378s appearing at Watford. Is this still happening now, or have they all been replaced by 710s?

I speak for myself here but I wouldn't mind the odd 378 showing on the Watford DCs, it add variety to the route. I know 710s have replaced them for the most part to be cascaded to other LO routes, but you do still occasionally get 378s. So I'd personally like to keep that! And prior to their replacement they were the work horses of that line, so it's not as if it's a random unit that has no place there. I really appreciated the 378 layering onto WCMLS as I prefer to drive it over the 710 anyway...

Has anyone else noticed that the 378 couplings are missing? There's a huge gap between the carriages. Doesn't happen on Mildmay though.

 

Yes, it's quite an eyesore, hopefully fixed soonish.

 

Does it not bother anyone that Euston is completely deserted on this route? For the busiest station on the route I'm not seeing virtually any passengers! Think this got broken a few patches ago but seems to have been forgotten?

 

Very very frustrating. It’s meant to be constantly busy but nope. We all have given feedback on it and Matt just seems to have an excuse available every time it is mentioned on a stream.

 

When did they fix the orange door beacons on the 350?

 

The route still has missing timetable services, as a number of layers were held back, and after much pestering Harry confirmed we probably will never see these now. Core TSW5 route, never finished.

 

This sort of issue puts me off buying future routes , as there does seem to be a mentality of pushing routes out and then leaving them in bugged states! Small bugs I can understand but this bug is very noticeable and significant!

 

Been pestering Liam, not to be annoying but because WCML deserves a full timetable. Especially the Avanti timetable but Tbf to Liam he says WCML needs to be improved in terms of memory and optimisation I think. All thank a Certain Company with a R as first letter then T as the last…
But you seen the big gap between 2PM and 3 hardly any AWC services. During the day tones of AI services for 390 are missing and services back to the depot. Liam knows this as I have told him and for a route such as WCML deserves the full timetable. Just the fact we are now in March and we are still waiting is not good enough and it is a core route.

If you’re gonna cut a route that was on TSC by 60.71% at least get it right. but hey we can just have a little faith

 

Not aimed at Liam btw. He’s done an amazing job and fixed it a lot but it’s lot fair for the AWC timetable to have a large cut to it

 

The missing services/layers exist at DTG, I don't understand why they don't just release them for the latest consoles/PC only.
As a PC player I hate that the game I play is held back because DTG want to cash in on consoles that aren't hardware capable.

WCMLs still has a negative rating on steam, and its a core TSW5 route, what sort of message does that give out to potential new customers?

I just wish the route went to Rugby at least then some will day like me why not go to Birmingham? Dovetail could of proved everyone they can do it right and better and went to New street and blow everyone away! End of the day it is a Dovetail route and The devs signed off on it.
Wonder what is next for WCML.

 

1H10 London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly. Literally no Passengers at all and this is peak time rush hour at 0910! It is not good enough! How do you deem this acceptable, something has to change surely! Having a brand new passengers system that is realistic would make the services much more immersive! Can us as the community get listened to rather than have stuff brushed under the carpet?

Exactly mate and the fact Matt says no Plans to put 390 and 350 timetable is very dissappointing. Considering the fact we got 153/150 now for TfW for those services too! So much opportunity now to Improve Birmingham New Street! Shame they couldn't do the Route from London to Birmingham :/ But I shall not repeat myself lol.

Well I was hoping for something like another ECML section, but not keen if it will be poorly built.

 

Class 91 we all be hoping for!! Would take that! But it seems a very low chance

 

Again, I’d like it but it has to be really good. Not interested in having it:

• Be a memory hog
• Having blurry textures
• Having poor running sounds
• Having audible loops upon acceleration and deceleration
• Having repeated ongoing braking strength issues (thinking 350 here)
• Having ongoing power recovery issues (again 350)

I would love more ECML and the 91 in game, but it must be done right and ideally with multiple normal and special liveries (thinking coke can, ox blood, flying Scotsman, Battle of Britain, Durham cathedral etc.). MUST also have the four horn options which is actually something Rivet did well on the 170.

At this point I’d only be confident really in JT, DTG first party in house, Skyhook making it. IT maybe too, does seem to me the issues are mainly core - just conscious it’s a lot of work for one dev. Athena may go on that list once their content is out and there are some reviews on quality of it.

 

I exactly agree, the Blurry textures as you said is an immersive breaker for me as that doesn't happen IRL. The transparent trees, poor scenery. I trust JT to do that kind of stuff.
So many issues with this game and TSW 6 potentially will probably will create more. Rivet did very well on the model but somehow on the 170 they mucked it all up. Changing the PIS on it now is possible but the combinations are wrong so if I select Haymarket it will display like Glasgow for example. Other than that the 170 is great
