Route West Coast Main Line: London Euston - Milton Keynes - Feedback

Just had the update, the 710 now seems to move whilst the doors are closing, basically the same issue the dostos had with guard mode on frankfurt fulda. This is at Euston

TRAIN: ALL Class 350 services
ROUTE: WCML South
DETAILS: After opening doors on a class 350 in guard mode or as a driver, when closing then the door interlock light (exterior orange light on the centre of each carriage) and the door buttons (small yellow buttons located on the door) stay illuminated when doors are locked. This should not happen and cannot be prevented on a player service. Please fix this ASAP as it breaks Immersion and gameplay on guard mode especially.

 

Same on PS5, but I think this bug was present prior to the latest update, but maybe not before the one before that?

 

Hello everyone I just want to report a bug on WCML South. Just did a 350 service 2K13 and I encountered so sort of bug when coming into Milton Keynes it looked like a red signal bug here are the pictures

 

another example of one update breaking other things, which will then go into the next update which will break other things. and the cycle will continue again, and again, and again. TEST YOUR SOFTWARE DTG!!!!

 

It really does seem like the newest January update broke quite a few things. I did a southbound Overground service on PS5 and noticed these things:

• No passengers at all at Euston, even the people in my train refused to disembark. It’s a ghost town!
• All platform departure screens at Queen’s Park are completely broken. They just display solid orange pixels.
• The defibrillator collectable at Queen’s Park platform 1 is bugged. Even though I already collected it, it now shows both the uncollected and collected models morphed into each other.
• Performance seems unchanged, perhaps even slightly worse than before. But I didn’t have any severe frame drops, low-res textures or anything like that.
• The scenery surrounding the “bulge” in the Overground line around Watford High Street (where it leaves the mainline alignment for a bit) still lacks any sort of road traffic.
• Various incorrect PIS destinations still not fixed (e.g. Watford Junction instead of Watford Jn).

 

Yes. It only started appearing after the last update.

 

I had some blurry textures in the cab (710) yesterday near the end of the run to WFJ.

 

Unreal engine glitch. Problem on ALL routes and trains.

 

The class 390 is not properly at London Euston

 

Observations with a run on the Pendolino from MKC to Euston, post 21 Jan patch.

Seems smoother apart from the regular endemic jitters/stutters which are presumably core related.

No "one under" at Harrow at least on this run, so hopefully that is sorted.

Textures holding up better, well at least the track, but flashing in and out of blurriness still evident at Euston on the platforms in particular as are the lighting effects on verticals flashing on and off.

Tunnels don't seem to have been touched, still got that repeating pattern with the black pattern on Primrose Hill walls, the structures still look like they are cobbled together from parts with the portals not flush with the walls, or simply look nothing like the prototype - particularly Northchurch and Linslade.

 

Also noticed Euston is deserted , seems passengers not spawning in the concourse now since the patch.

Noticed as well Berkhamstead has no passengers at all.

 

I recon the hard stutters are core related as I had hard stutters on bremen Oldenburg. No crashes recorded on any route which is good

 

I'm confused by the timings of some 390 services. If you have green signals the whole way and go at EPS speeds Euston-Milton Keynes non-stop should take around 33 minutes but there are non-stop services that are 38-40 minutes meaning you end up arriving at least 5 minutes early.

I'm not sure if this is a missing traffic issue, the timings are based on 110mph max, or it's real life timetable padding by Avanti to give more flexibility for drivers to stay on time.

 

Passengers have become a frustration on this route. Euston is now deserted but at the same time the suicidal passenger at Harrow while reduced is not gone completely. Just had one walk across the fast line tracks on service 1H38 in the 390/0 on PS5.

 

There are still some services missing for the 390 (AI only though), could be why.

 

Not sure where to put this as there's no feedback thread for the gameplay pack but it would seem that the favorite DTG issue is back in the gameplay add-on for this route. have driven my 66 all the way fromMilton Keynesas far as signal WM 318 just befor South Hamstead station where I am now stuck at a red along with 12 other trains that are also stuck at red signals. Euston station has 2 trains in it on the map, 2T49 and a Pendo service that despite hovering along the whole train doesn't want to show it's service ID so I'm thinking that's what the issue is

Add-on to this. I uninstalled the 390 and tried to scenario again and completed it so as stated in the previous post it would seem the 390 is the cause of the red lights that jam up the whole route

 

There's no tutorial for the 72 Stock. Normally the controls are pretty much standard but this thing don't budge!

I saw a link to a U Tube vid here for a tutorial but I can't find it any more; it was posted recently.

 

Insert control key (bottom left corner on back wall of cab) and move it to the On position
Insert Direction Selector Key and set it to Forward
Move Traction Brake Control to Off And Release
Use Audible Warning Valve Reset to silence the hissing sound (front left)

If you want to have the windows open you need to set Droplight Interlock Left and Right to Cut Out (each side of back wall of cab)
If you want to reverse set the Reverse Lockout to Cut Out (right side of cab)

 

This is at Harrow Wealdstone i was driving the class 710 going towards Euston and I saw two bakerloo line train on the same piece of track

Hasn't it been said they're doing nothing else to the timetable?

 

Matt said, when they had resolved optimisation issues he hoped to revisit additional layers.

 

Scary thought, DTG may argue the WCML South is 'making enough sales' to not warrant an upgrade. So this means on their terms, it's successful.

 

The additional timetable layers already exist, they have been completed, they were pulled from being released before Christmas as they were found to cause some isolated issues. Matt said they would address the issues first, in the hope that they could push the additional layers through in a future patch. If not maybe DTG Matt might see fit to release the timetable to TSC as a PC only "experimental timetable"

 

Easy. Just add a second (non-reduced) timetable for Gen9 and PC. Multiple other routes have this as well (SEHS and ECML I believe, plus a few more), and it works super well. That’s the perfect use case for this. We’ve evidently got some people’s systems struggling with the current TT already, but other’s (like mine) are running completely fine and could endure some additional railtour layers easily.

 

Have tried this and still no joy.
Control key is either in or out; there's no on position.

 

There is, but it’s kind of difficult to find. Position yourself facing the control key and move the cursor to the end of the handle. The option should then appear

 

I recon the reason why most people including me have crashes on this route is because when we do services from Tring or Milton Keynes, memory is basically travelling (almost like a memory footprint). The more we get to the end, the more the memory makes hardware and consoles harder to cope. Hopefully in either tomorrow's patch or a future patch they remove the memory footprint that is causing these crashes to Euston. (Going toward Milton Keynes is fine)

 

Probably why my experience is different to most then. Most of my runs on the route tend to be from the Euston end.

 

The direction doesn’t seem to make a performance difference for me. I generally always try to switch things up (if I did the last run northwards, I’ll do the next run in the other direction).

 

I never seem to have a problem leaving Euston towards Milton keynes, but it's a problem on the way back to Euston

 

There's a way to get outside of the station at Euston (side of one of the ramps and up by some vans) which has been present since release (and remains so), however when I used to be able to go for a long walk around outside, even making it into the blocked concourse area, once you get more than a few meters outside of the building, you now fall through the floor and keep falling. I assume this new 'non solid' make up of stuff is part of the optimisation around Euston.

 

Overall, I really like the route. For me personally, it is one of the favourites, which competes well with Preston.
I am really looking forward to the removal of the floating timber (it is strange that this has not been fixed yet) and the appearance of suspension on the Class 710.

Scenario 66 "London rubbish" cannot be completed yet, traffic is blocked on the approach to Tring (the 350 in front is blocking traffic on the platform along the route).

I hope that in the future the route will be extended and I would also like to see the historical timetable and rolling stock from the 70-90s.

 

Haven’t seen this anywhere else but there’s a new 350 bug. Tail lights illuminated on AI along with headlights in the forward positions.

And as a player service tail lights are no longer illuminated on the rear.

I wonder what “fix” broke this?

Yes, just seen this. Also, all the 350s I've seen show Not in Service on their PIS.

 

Yes I found this tonight. You can sort it as a driver but the AI all looks silly. I logged an issue earlier with DTG

 

Euston is still totally deserted after the patch, no passengers spawning in the concourse! Also the yellow PCB / VCB light still stays on all the time from what I can see. And there is this new 350 bug with no red tail lights on the rear carriage! So overall WCML south is in an even worse state since the patch, which is hard to believe.

 

I’ve tried twice ti complete the ironically named “Heavy Traffic” scenario (there’s literally zero traffic) but when I change ends to move into Watford Junction, it doesn’t register the move power lever to P1.

 

It seems that on the 350 neutral sections are active somehow? Which is bizarre as they aren’t implemented on this route!

I’ve noticed the unit automatically braking after passing a neutral section, similar to the 385 in Edinburgh to Glasgow. Can anyone confirm?

Even then there should've never been the case on posting the teaser article on the promise an expanded timetable will be included. Unless you've conducted intense testing and are satisfied with the results, you are not allowed to post such statement these will be included. What you've again just done is 'seductively and manipulated' the market on hyping the promise WCML South has now reached it's full potential. Oh 'you shouldn't be using such strong words'. Unfortunately this is what exactly what they did to the players on false promises.

This is DTG, a game that I once praised and were often patient enough to understand things that take time, communication etc, but now this is no excusable. A game now from what it looks like heading to suddenly turning more to a 'banking simulator' rather than an actual train simulator in itself for again us players giving well constructive feedback and suggestions for improvements, but almost but most are either forgotten or flushed down the toilet. For as well for them to release this Thomas DLC is enough to prove they are no longer interested in the core market of TSW and would now instead be on the hope of the larger casual market in time for the perfect excuse to not produce any routes to high quality standards on grounds 'the market doesn't demand it'. It's slowly coming, and unless strategy changes, nothing will see light in the tunnel.

DTG, you are now standing on your last legs, fix now or you will ultimately destroy this sole purpose of this game.

Does it look bright? NYT, released in a half baked state, the Devs not holding Rivet to account, them to announce the Thomas DLC at a time many of us has been screaming for improvements and something larger. How can they call this a gift everyone wanted?
