Hi There, I picked up an Alan Thomson subscription in their recent sale so am hoping to complete some of the requirements needed for the route merges. I noticed for the Harrogate Loop which is required for Leeds Line and the ECML Merge that Wherry Lines is needed. I was thinking of buying the Steam Wherry Lines edition and then upgrading with the 2.0 on AP website however wanted to know if this was compatible with the Harrogate Loop/ECML Merge and whether the 2.0 upgrade would give me access to proper branding for Wherry lines. Any experience with this would be much appreciated, cheers.
If it wasn't on sale I'd just get the Wherry Lines from AP, but since you'd be getting the 2.0 upgrade at effectively half price by getting it this way I'd go ahead and do it. You don't have long though, the sale ends in three hours.
Yes, the 2.0 upgrade effectively means you'll get all 25 scenarios updated that way and you'll still have the 20 on Steam, so you can try those 20 both ways (they are among the 25). It also means you get to try both stock variations for the route.
Thanks both for your replies - I have bought this and can confirm I have both copies now with two sets of Wherry Line scenarios. I don't have access to the branded versions as this is only included with the AP37 but will save up for this in the next sale - (spent too much already!) but this will let me get the rest of the route merges!
Very good. I think the Class 37 from AP is one of the most critically acclaimed DLC they have. Part 2 features all of the type 0 trains, while Part 1 has the others. Check the manuals for both as there are a gajillion liveries in there. I just wish the scenarios did not require stock from all over the Internet (a couple of Fastline items in there for instance) and that there were more scenarios added now that use the newer wagons on their own site..
It is just a loco/wagon/coach that you buy and use in a couple of scenarios. Swap it for something else which is similar - or another version from a pack you already have. I look at a train and think "I don't have that" but then think "Would I drive it" - if the answer is No then I don't bother. I have bought loads of stuff which is not getting used.
