This is just an early idea for tsw6 when ever it arrives. It would be good to have off the rails mode in service mode in tsw6. But at the same time you have to still obey all traffic light. All off the rail mode is you can use any train on any track without limit of trains that all it is. But use them in service mode as well. Making things more freely to use while in service mode. That may go alone with the electrical unit as well. Making things more fun more enjoyable while operating your train in service mode with other AI train as well. This would be like an off the rail mode but operating your train in regular service mode using any train in the time table. But remember you stil have to go by regulation of traffic lights and signals. I really don’t want to call it off the rail mode. But something more free to use in tsw while in time table. Kinda feel this would be interesting a lot more freedom in time table while using any train. I would like to add that this will be awesome for those who have a lot of your train and route collection in your back catalogs.
I've suggested this before. Would be so cool to have a more flexible substitution system that allows you to use any train, and just drive a service with it. Free Roam is hassle to set up and doesn't handle multiple stops services well. I've always loved TSC's Quick Drive mode for its flexibility. While TSW Timetable Mode certainly is awesome, it doesn't yet have the flexiblity I'd love to see.
I think this is a must, having to constantly change your stops every-time you stop is a pain. Being able to ‘swap-out’ a train for another shouldn’t be too hard to develop, something similar to how you select the pathing in Scenario Designer.
This would be great for those who has a large collection of the back catalog. I hope this happen I think many folk will enjoy TSW with this idea.
would be usable for example for 218, which you can play as substitute loco for REX services on Koln Aachen and such routes... there you get to haul like 6 or 7 dostos, on routes designed for locos that can go 160 or more kph and reach it fast... so lets say on Koln Aachen, even if driving unrealistically hard (not mentioning that 218 doesnt even do some services IRL and thats why it also cant keep up to certain timetables), I was always like almost 10mins late at terminus... if I was able to "summon" one more 218 for sandwich or double header, it could get to 140 kph much faster and thus would even be able to keep to the timetable
