If I take over on foot at Leipzip MDR on RT even with the brake key set correctly, train brakes released and applied the throttle applied the train rolls backwards and will not move forward. Did I do something wrong so this happens and if so what? Please and thank you
Does the train have power? On the rapid transit version, you have to either release parking brake and/or power the train (raise panto and close mcb) for it to work properly
Not sure but I think it does, since I no problems with this same train on the same route on different service(s) that I take over at different station(s). I am trying to get all services done in TSW2 for this route but since each service is one hour plus (ex 1:05) long and there is a lot of services to be completed (ex 442), there is no way in funge I am going to spend 442 plus hours.
It get more weird. If I use the BR182 train at the same station, that does not happen on a different time table. I should try taking over that train in the same time table to see what happens. The train in question at the start of the thread is the 766.2DBpbzfa DB. [EDIT] I tested and after I took over the serice the BR182 train did not roll the wrong way. I will keep this in mind for other services that use the 766.2DBpbzfa DB.
Upon reflection I only needed to complete 127 services to get all services trophy/achievement on my PS4
TSW3 as noted is way out of support. Buy TSW5 and bring your content across. I had major issues with Brighton Main Line in TSW3 on the PS5 before upgrading. Every run either started with the train instantly derailing or derailing after travelling a short distance. No such issue in TSW5.
Your point being? There is no achievement/trophy in TSW5 or that content. The OP wants to collect a trophy/achievement. The last game that particular achievement/trophy was obtainable was TSW2, hence this is what is being done and this is what they seek help with. Suggesting they move to a game that doesn't allow them to do that at all is just stupid advice. I can't help with that particular achievement (this is the only one I do not plan on obtaining in TSW2, apart from the BR143 that is not obtainable and BR Class 465 achievements as I don't have the DLC because it is included in TSW3 and going forward - so my target is 424/431). I can confirm however, that you need to only do the 127 services in the original timetable, so if this service is not part of that you can safely skip it. If not, worst case scenario, you'll need to run the entire service instead of doing the last station takeover.
My point being there is no support for TSW3 and if the problem is endemic to that scenario in that version then it’s never getting fixed, so you might as well move on. Appreciate you might not get an achievement but the situation is what it is. From where most of us are sitting, DTG don’t appear to have much resources to support and fix TSW5 let alone older versions.
Still, this achievement is obtainable according to achievement hunting websites, so that is doable, but might not be in the way the OP is attempting. If you wanna help, help with the issue they are facing, and not suggest something that won't allow them to do what they want.
Also Rapid Transit is well known as one of the buggiest DTG releases even back when earlier versions were being supported and they pretty much ignored the title. Only two thoughts trying to be practical. Is there something the OP could do with the parking brake? Has any brake key been switched into the on position?
OK, so I just did that. Spawned in at MBR in TSW2 at 17:30 (only changed to Aug as I wanted to see something, lol) and I had no problems with what you wanted to do. Walked up to the train, walked in the cab, took over the 1526 service, then did only two things: brake key > on, reverser > fwd. Upon closing the doors the train starts rolling backwards, but the power came through when I used the throttle. I also tried the same thing again, but with one additional action - putting the brakes on before closing the doors, went to emergency I think (I held the button a tad too long) and it also worked as expected. Released the brake, the red rectangle around power indicator (forgot the name) turned white, put in the throttle and the train went forward.

But I will keep in mind I am on PS4 and you are on Xbox when I test it. Exactly right and the last trophy/achievement for that route is TSW4 (passager boarding) so suggesting TSW5 is of no use.
I don't think the platform matters. It's pretty straightforward. What do you think you did wrong? I didn't use the brakes on this run. As I said I'm on another run when I did I could release them and accelerate as well.
What I thought I did wrong was full power but it worked normally. Maybe if I save and resume it will roll backwards even if I use power after closing the doors? And since I need to get passager boarding from TSW2 to TSW4 for this route, testing..
Tried saving and resuming from save just before closing the doors, result no difference. I am sure to select to clear weather at that station in any season and at time, so it has nothing to deal with the weather. More testing to see what I did wrong if I can find something.. [EDIT] 2/15 ~ 9:51AM Tried to set the brake key to on after the train is set to forward, still normal.
The moment you save and load be advised that you are essentially gambling in TSW. So much stuff can go wrong in this game that I almost never save and load. I have seen trains stuck at red with no end, doors stopping working, essentially game breaking stuff.
