Hi, On TS2019 I always had issues with enhancement packs and popping audio on the 64 bit OpenAL file, so I used to just set up the audio for 32 bit and run in 64 bit mode which worked perfectly.

Now however on TS2020 this is not possible. From a fresh install you initially start off with the OpenAL32 file and OpenAL64 File in the railworks directory, when running in 64 bit mode, the game launches fine. After this if you close TS and run set up audio for 32bit it completes and the game will run in 64 bit mode, apart form the sound is still in 64 bit rather than 32 whcih resolves the popping audio issues. Naturally I assumed TS 2020 is always looking for the OpenAL64 file in 64 bit mode now so I tried to rename them so 64 now becomes 32, and 32 now becomes 64 etc. This didnt work and the game fails to launch. Its also not possible to setup audio for32 and simply delete the 64 bit file as the game fails to launch. My guess is that something else has changed within TS 2020 which relies on what the 64 bit OpenAL file contains. Please bear in mind that in TS2019 in was entirely possible to run in 64 bit mode with the 32 bit sound file. If anyone can help that would be great. All dependincies are up to date and drivers verified and up to date aswell.

Resetting the discrete audio properties per the link has helped several people.

I have the problem, too. First start from TS2020 looks fine (not all, but mostly) , but a second start only without sound. I try your solution and is doesn´t work. TS2020 is the only program, which has this problem. TS2019 without any Problems. Window is Version 1903, build:18362:356

So I presume Microsoft saying that Windows 10 version 1903 caused Sound problems with a lot of games is wrong?

Maybe you should tell Microsoft as you seem to know better :D

I'm running TS2020 without any sound problems because I'm on Windows 7 64bit

running in 64 bit I get no "in cab" engine sound looking forwards , yet if I look to the left or right windows , the sound suddenly kicks in !! I can not play the game like this so have to stay and run with the 32 bit option unfortunately ..and I have the latest windows update installed just this morning ..made no difference !

Microsoft have put workarounds out there, and as above check your sound drivers. This is an MS and windows issue, not a DTG / TSx one

TS2020 64bit, running on Windows 7 64bit and i also have the same problem, in cab looking ahead no engine sound. If i look right/left/up/down engine sound kicks in, so it's not a WIN10 problem.
