Very interesting route despite the short length it has a decent amount of stops and a new train to drive. Maybe in future it could be extended but impressive work by a solo dev. Will buy it on day 1.

I don’t think its a route length problem, but the choice of route.
Matt said on one of his personal livestreams recently, when I asked about whether BML could use reskinned 377/5s and 387/1s for Thameslink, rather than adding in the 700, that even simply adding in the paths would potentially crash the route, as memory needs to track all the services.

On Mildmay, we are having a 8-12 tph services in each direction, plus what seems to be a fully AI filled Stratford and Willesden Junction, plus MML, ECML, Chiltern lines crossing - potentially also the Weaver, Jubilee, Metropolitan Lines where they cross.

That on its own would be a heck of a lot of services for the game to keep track of.

Now think of adding in Richmond and Clapham Junction with additional reskins, and all the associated services to make that half of the route feel alive.

BML was around 2,000 - 3,000 paths in total.

I think with what we are launching with, there may around that number of paths, if not more, if GA is all services except GEML 745s, Central Line, DLR, potentially Jubilee Line & SEHS and Willesden is potentially full WCML, Bakerloo & Lioness Line.

If we then added in Clapham and Richmond, potentially same again, then GWML and Elizabeth Line, Piccadily, Central & District crossing the route, you could be looking at well over 10,000 paths, and a potential meltdown of your console / PC.

Then you cut down the amount of AI "scenery" particularly on routes the NLL just crosses, just for the random chance of seeing a train on another line for a split second.

Or...counterpoint, some people really like lots of AI traffic, and might argue that "busy-ness" is the key to capturing the vibe of an urban setting. BML remains a fan-favorite to this day, and not because it's a particularly engaging drive IMO- it's the almost constant passing traffic that brings it to life.

I'm definitely in that camp. I don't know Richmond from Rochester, so it being missing isn't going to detract from my fun. I can see why it would annoy locals though tbh.

As good as Mittenwaldbahn is, it definitely gets lonely seeing only a couple of other trains the entire length of the route.

The principal reason I haven't bought it. Single track is pretty much a red flag for me.

Totally agree. I will buy this as it looks amazing but would love to see it in the old Silverlink days when this was a slow and dirty line and went all the way to North Woolwich (together with the railway museum). The addition of the Greenwich foot tunnel would be a bonus. Well, I can but dream.

Didn't it used to be a DMU (usually Cravens) from Camden Road to North Woolwich?!

Just wondering if the Class 378 will layer as AI onto the remastered GWE, crossing the line at either end of Old Oak Common depot which represents the Willesden Junction to Clapham Junction and Richmond services?
Unless Liam is far too busy already, I guess it is a possibility that this is another reason the remaster hasn't been released yet. However, this is wishful thinking until we are told otherwise.

I loved the line in that era, fond memories of Saturdays out with my Dad. Was never bored on a trip from Richmond to Broad Street given all the lines you crossed. Get to the old rundown Broad Street (which I loved and was sad when it went), down the stairs and into Liverpool Street to start our day of ticking off the major stations/depots in London.

To young to remember the 501s, but they looked like beautiful functional beasts! Like a mix between a Southern Region EPB and a Eastern Region Class 302...

I believe they had shorter frames then regular stock and were some of the first to have the barred windows? Like proper cattle carriers... I'd still rather a 501 over a 700, at least my back would prefer it!

Day 1 purchase all day long, whilst longer routes with their 1 to 2 hour services are great this fits into the "quick lunch hour run" bracket for those work from home days or simply when I cant commit to a longer TSW session which sadly happens more frequently than I'd like.

It will be interesting to see where the invisible walls are placed in this. Can we get to the other platforms at Stratford? Are we able to walk towards Primrose Hill if that’s where some of the Intermodal services begin?

I know we’re being granted access to the Willesden Jct depot / sidings at least!

Looks good but as others have said I am waiting until the core performance issues are resolved (if ever). I still can't get an hour in on my series x without crashing to dashboard. It really needs resolved.

same. Absolutely agree here. I’ve spent hundreds on this game but it’s not reliable enough for me to spend a penny more. Resolve it, or I’m going to delete and move on. I certainly won’t spend any more money on it until it actually works.

Been a long time since I last dropped by these forums and I haven't played too much in recent months (though I still keep up to date on the news and roadmaps), but I'm rather excited to see Stratford in the game, and I am impressed by the commitment to bringing the route to life with lots of AI traffic and the detail is incredible.

Not sure if I'll pick it up at launch, money is a little tighter than it was a year or two ago (gotta pay the rent and all that), but looking forward to when I do get the chance to give it a go.

The distance doesn't really bother me so much, time is the main reason I don't play the game so much these days, sitting down for 40 minutes or an hour or whatever is something I'm just not as free to commit to as I used to be, especially when I'm balancing my free time with other hobbies, so a nice short route is much more approachable for a player like me.

I Swear, The North London (Oh sorry was I Supposed To Say The "MildMay" ) Line Would Have Gone To Clapham Junction Or Richmond So That We Can Get In Some Power Changeover Action Just Like Southeastern High Speed Extended.
We Should, But If We Don't Then I Will Be Very Pissed And Maybe Reconsider If I Should Give Them 25 Quid For The Route, But I Don't See Any Reason Why We Shouldn't, So Expect To See It Being Player Accessible.

If you have ever been on the dlr you would know that the trains can be operated by a driver.

During busy periods you will get a member of staff (if I recall correctly, the job title is Passenger Service Agent) at the front to supervise, they aren’t actually driving. Just operating doors & otherwise regulating the services (revenue protection, passenger safety etc).

The DLR can be manually driven by the PSA & is done so every now & then for training, otherwise there is no regular manual driving.

It’d be about the same as having the Thameslink ATO in game.

Yeah I've been on a couple of dlr trains with a driver driving it. They block access to that part of the train when doing so.

If you have a train where you can't physically drive it in tsw, and just sit like a passenger for 60 mins. Then yeah I can see where the problem is.
Although if you can take control of the train, l I can't understand why people get so wound up when any one mentions a ato route.

Personally I wouldn’t be for an ATO route as they still need all the effort of a cityscape being modelled, along with a significant number of stations, but you lose the driving experience. I’m of the opinion that it’s time better spent elsewhere, like any other Overground or Underground route.

The Thameslink ATO I wouldn’t mind so much, as there’s opportunity to give us a drivable section alongside it.

Difference with TL is its not ato 24 hours a day so there is always a point in the day where it's manually driven.

But Seriously, The Most Annoying Part Of all This Is That You Cant Do Any Kind Of Power Change Which Is Available On The North London Line But At Acton Town, Which Is Just 1 Stop Away From The Selected Terminus Point By DTG - Willisden Junction... How Joyfully Annoying.....:(:(

I noticed on the Stream, that there are 668 services for the Class 378, is it an error ?

Full praise to Johannes from the one man team of lncredible Trains. Like the title this is an incredible route, highly detailed and densely populated. From first viewing it looks as it’s up with the standard of a JTs route.

A lot of posters have commented that the route is too short and should have gone to Richmond or elsewhere. My answer to them is would you rather have a 12 mile route full of detail or a longer route sparsely detailed. This 12 mile route looks absolutely amazing and l am very happy to have 12 miles of excellent scenery at a ridiculously low price of £24.99

Congratulations Johannes on a well constructed and thoughtful route, which l am sure will be a joy to play. Well done.

    No.
8tph each way Stratford - Willesden (for 20 hours would be 320)
8tph each way Highbury - Haggerston area (Windrush line services) (for 20 hours would be 320)
So 668 isn’t far off if there are ECS moves as well.

I prefer only Full Routes to Richmond and Clapham Junction and make the Route for 36€ then and Not 30€
I hate it when it’s Not a Full Route and it’s Split on a Point, same issue with the ATS Route

Indeed, I fully agree, and to those who seem to be demanding he extends it I would ask how they would feel if after working for a year their employer insisted they work for the next year for no extra money. I know exactly what their response would be. I’m sure some people here would have demanded Leonardo Da Vinci extended the Mona Lisa to include her legs. I think I know exactly what his response would have been too. The route is pretty amazing and the scope of it is just about right for one person doing it all themselves to such a high standard.
