Western Cornwall Lines Route The Western Cornwall Lines would be a network of routes located in the south west of the English county of Cornwall. The three lines would be the Cornish Main Line from Truro to Penzance (25.8 miles), the Maritime Line from Truro to Falmouth (11.2 miles), and the St Ives Bay Line from St Erth to St Ives (4.2 miles), a total of 41.2 miles. The scenery varies between rural countryside, urban areas and scenic coastal areas. Speeds along the route vary between 60 and 75 mph on the main line, 50 mph on the Maritime Line and 30 mph on the St Ives Bay Line. Locomotives Great Western Railway Class 802 The Class 802 is a bi-mode multiple unit which operates InterCity services along the Cornish Main Line from London to Penzance, replacing the Class 43. These would drive the fastest services along the route stopping at only selected stations along the way. Great Western Railway Class 150/2 The Class 150/2 is a type of Diesel Multiple Unit built in the 1980s which operates local commuter services for Great Western Railway. These operate services both on the Cornish Main Line and the two branch lines which would be featured in this route, providing a completely different driving experience to the Class 802.
