Dear DTG in RRO there is a branch line between Hagen HBF and Schelm in the middle between the S Bahn line and the mainline in real. Will that branch be in the TSW version of RRO? It would be very nice, because that's a branch with freight. If not, that's not a problem for me. Because on the mainline are some big stations and yards for freight action.

Desiel for yard switching, before any of you jump on me about this both usa and uk routes have gotten switchers uk 08 09 usa sw1000r and even the gp38 can be used as a switcher, but german routes have no switchers and no desiels yet.

Looks great but the inclusion of the 185.5 is starting to get boring, yes it's in yet another different livery which is nice, but I believe that this route deserves a new electric loco for the goods services

Also 20 Miles for me is far too short for the price we are gonna pay for this

New engine for the goods services... (non-S-Bahn) passenger services even more so! The 185 is the only vehicle in the DLC that actually uses this route in reality after all.

apparently, according to this image posted a while ago, the 422 does operate on this route.

EDIT: so this does mean that both trains are realistically set on this route, or am I wrong?

They used to run on the S8 at one point. I'm getting mixed information on when and for how long exactly, and what doesn't make it easier as well is, that 422 services got somewhat messed up and disrupted a few years back when one of them chose to go up in flames. The standard vehicle for the S8 as of today is a different one however:

Lo and behold the BR 1440. Or maybe just lo. Don't behold if you want your eyes to remain healthy.

with the picture of the 1440 I get an even better view why DTG has chosen the 422 XD
literally ROFL right now from that picture of the BR 1440, I mean how can a train look so funny? XD

Yep. My first post in this thread was a rant about the route lenght, but also tried to made clear I'm thankful they're giving us the wrong train :D

It is sad I can only give you an "upvote" and not a "funny" XD
Now we're all happy with a mistake of DTG, sounds kinda strange lol

I don't really get all the hate for the 1440. I ride this train twice a week and actually like it. That said, the 1440 I'm talking about has a different livery which I think looks nicer :D

To be fair, other than not looking too great in Traffic Red, there's not really anything wrong with the 1440. However, it was in no way designed with S-Bahn services in mind, and it does show. Too few doors, wasting space on toilets...

The 422 on the other hand is about as S-Bahn as it gets.

My guess is Thursday 10th release after pre-order announcement either tomorrow or Thursday.

And wow, BR 1440s are creepy with their "smile" in the front.

You have stolen my dreams and my childhood, how dare you... Oh, stop, sorry. I live in Sweden so... Why are you people writing things about not buying this and looking for failures already, when the route is kind of WIP and we don't have any release date yet. OK, I was hoping for Dusseldorf too, but I still think that all work they will put into this DLC can be worth money. If you don't want to buy, well, wait for discounts. It looks like the route will give us a lot of driving anyway, I can't see any big reason to complain.

I am totally hyped for this one to be honest, the idea of a split route i think is a stellar choice for DTG it enables multiple ways to play it and makes the other DLC locos far more valuable now. The idea that you can see totally different section of scenery in the one route goes along way for replay value than most routes double its length even more so with the DLC usage on this line.

Really the only pain point i have with it is i would have loved for this to be an expansion to RSN if that DLC was owned, been able to catch a connecting service at Hagen would have put this over the top for me.

Looks promising DTG cant wait to find out more

422s on the RB48, or just any RB? Weeelll... maybe that's an indication we'll get another EMU for RRO at some point future, to put it like that.

The picture as such looks stunning once again though.

DB628 Not saying you're wrong on that one, only thing is, I'm not saying you're wrong on that one for the fifty-second time or something like that now. We know you want the 425, I know many other people would like to see it, I know I wouldn't mind it too, and indeed it would be accurate for most German TSW routes we have so far. But that also means, either Dovetail are already working on one, and if they aren't, there'll be good reasons for that.

Meanwhile all the broken services were ported over to the all singing and dancing TSW2020 despite being known about for months.
NTP is still unplayable after the freight pack since June despite them saying it's fixed. Well it bloody well isn't..
But never mind Whoopi do another mediocre dlc on the way with bugs included for free.

When DTG announces their DLC's, it mostly doesn't take long for them to release them so that is why I guess this week. but it is just a guess because it could also be next week, or the one after. The only way we know for sure is if they post it themselves. However they probably won't do that, so we just have to wait.

Well they said we'd get a release date and a price this week. I doubt they'd do that just two days from release.

I haven't read that anywhere so that was why I made this conclusion :) But if they said that, then next week would be more appropriate for a release date.

Now what I am mainly curious about is the actual sound of the BR 422.... Here's a good video example:

Funny, I noticed one detail which has been apparent on all screenshots before. Is it just me or are they using the wrong pantograph on the multi-system traxx? It looks like they're using the typical 3kV DC pantograph instead of a 15kV AC one. Then again, I don't know these locos so well. I know it would be wrong in case it was a Vectron, though. :)

EDIT: Actually I was wrong, I did some digging and found out that is indeed their correct pantograph for 15kV AC systems. Interesting! :) I guess it really depends on the series of Traxx locos. I had something else in my mind ( besides the Vectrons of course ).

Its a bit up in the air for me, i was unsure about rsn because im not really a fan of electric locomotives(vintage diesels for me) but i bought and absolutely loved it. The 143 is one of my favorites. I own both msb and rsn the german routes are very well done in my opinion. I have no doubt this route will be great but on the other hand theres only one new loco and a variant of the 185.2. The length is a bit of an issue, 30km. About the same as west sommerset. If it costs the same as west sommerset then it might be worth it if its the same price as penn corridor then ill pass.

if this is considered more proof that they cant extend routes then why bother. its one of those "if it was an extension it would be a instant buy" kinda deals. LIRR was a trigger to concerns, this just proves them. DTG prove me wrong - at somepoint you might show us otherwise, but has there really been any improvement in TSW over the last year?

shadows still pop in ridiculously short
ini tweaks are still basically required
    sound still breaks
    texture work is still shoddy
passenger numbers and intelligence is still shocking
routes have decreased in quality and have probably shrunk more than gained length
"basic" things like headbob are missing
PIS is still basic with no actual improvements since v0.1
    etc
    etc
    etc

where are the improvements? where is the change? where do DTG want to take TSW - or is this it?

I really want to like this DLC, but DTG make it neigh on impossible to support them.

The TSW2020 update did improve sound, but almost all other, yeah, I'll happily second that. What do you mean with shoddy textures though?

the signal boxes on NTP, the hills on NTP, the walls on almost all routes still appear flat and definitionless, the wet shiny textures etc

I agree that there still are some minor issues but if you hop on NEC and then on to Peninsula corridor there has been a climb in quality with the locomotives and the routes them selves. Hopefully we will find out the release date soon!

Wish ... need ... want ... demand ... ... ... get? There's no doubt in my mind that the content of this route DLC was determined before all the squawking started. That's how any good business works. Let's all just calm down and wait for the release announcement, when griping, moaning, demanding a discount, ... can begin.
