Not sure if I'm doing something wrong. I'm doing a service to Ashford which asks me to uncouple the 395 in st pancras. I go to the center cab of the leading unit. Master key in, reverse gear, press uncouple and pull backwards. Uncouples fine. Reverser off, master key out, back to the front. Reverser In forward, The ctrl light being out, I press that, it illuminates, try throttle but no movement at all. Two attempts, nothing whatsoever. Am I doing something wrong?
Got one that's working now, can't remember which bit it was a timetable service. Separately why does the game penalise me for being overspeed in the tunnel now between STP and AFK? When the speed limit steps down it goes yellow on the overspeed before you've even had a chance to slow down for it... Whereas on TSW2 it would yellow and flash to warn you to slow down and then it goes red if you haven't slow down. The speedometer hud. It's literally impossible to see anything in the tunnel there's no way of knowing what the speed limit is going to be until it flashes and when it does you're already overspeed. To clarify , it flashes 200 on the dashboard, but I'm actually supposed to be aiming to be under 160. Unless I'm under 160 when it stops flashing 200 I lose 15 points!
If it helps, once you get the speed reduction to 200, put the brakes at around 40 to 60 percent depending on the gradient. The signals on approach to stations are around 600-700 yards apart.
I would say as soon as the speed notification starts flashing apply min brakes, you can keep an eye also on your mini hud if you have that enabled to see what speed you are suppose to do. Min brakes are powerful, so long as you apply them in time, if you did apply them in time then apply more 40 to 50 as Jack says or you can leave yo the last minute and put your foot through the floor to slow the train down, but nice for your passengers.
