That's the current plan, yes. We'll shout if that changes, though.

The route is modelled as of around 2023 - before the electrification of the branch lines featured in the Add-on.

Would have though (fairly) present day due to the 153/9, but with the HST also appearing it must be a little bit in the past.

With Cardiff being prominent in Doctor Who, and Torchwood being based there, I'm curious about the mastery rewards.

Metra won't grant DTG a licence, which would be a big drawback on most Chicago routes.

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one thinking about that ! As a huge fan of both, it would be awesome if they did that.

The new Frankfurt route looks interesting even though S-Bahn services are not usually my cup of tea. Glad to see the 420 finally finding a home. I was hoping she might come in a backdated form when an alternative plan was initially mentioned but oh well.

The new TSG loco pack might be the potential loco DLC for Mittenwaldbahn that Lukas mentioned on stream. Anyways, always happy to see another TSG loco.

Speaking of Mittenwaldbahn, very disappointed that DTG seemingly sit on a finished update as I understand it. The sound levels on the 1020 put a real damper on my enjoyment of the otherwise excellent loco.

Fife Circle Sprinter timetable is making good progress. Much better than several months ago. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel now.

Let's not even mention the livery designer or the whole barely functioning Creators Club as a whole.

Or interactive elevators, which also don't work at all on certain routes like MBTA Commuter.

Substitution also doesn't work properly on many routes. Making liveries for freight cars is entirely pointless, because you never see them.

I wanted to clarify when we can expect the introduction of suspension on the 158?

I have raised concerns in the CCN discussions thread surrounding lighting at Cardiff Central. The screenshots make it look clinical and clean, could you confirm if the lighting is yellowed, or if there’s plans to correct it if not?

might be nitpicky to some - but Cardiff Central has always had harsh yellow lighting at night, and it would break the immersion if not.

I'm looking forward to the Santa Fe pack with UP add on. Depends on how detailed the scenarios are, but it's the timetable and scenarios which let Cajon Pass down. If those are improved it could bring life to an underused freight route.

lets not forget Antelope... it is an older route, but now you can use MP36PH from San Bernardino, as well as F59PHR in it, so I would say it still counts... MBTA Commuter and LIRR are both awesome... playing a lot of MBTA Commuter atm :)

For all you apologists: I'm talking about the current Roadmap and the complete lack of any North American content from DTG.

LIRR is almost a year old, San Bernardino was released 6 months ago and Antelope Valley is a TSW4 route from September, 2023.

I am guessing it is licensing... plus lets not forget the current situation in US and that railroads arent in an enviable position atm, which might affect their already not very high inclination towards licensing some content... I am thankful we at least got F59PHR, which brings a third and again different way to drive the Metrolink routes... I'm not a fanatic nor apologist, I just like the game despite its many flaws, as it helps me cope with the s... called life lol

railroads atm have much bigger concerns than licensing (like the possible cutting of funds for California highspeed rail, which could be fatal for the project)... so I assume that DTG, in regards to US content, are also cautious as the operators might not be very inclined to agree to licensing content in this atmosphere... passenger rail in the US was on a good trajectory last couple years, now nobody knows what to expect, cos on one side Amtrak and others have ambitious plans for new routes, equipment etc, but on the other, the current administration mostly hates trains... this is of course a very broad topic and I guess best left for Off-topic discussion... didnt want to delve much into this, but yeah, this could be a contributing factor to there not being as much content from the US

I chucked the question into the Roadmap Q&A though whether it gets addressed…

While imperfect there are several ways around the licensing etc. which have been discussed elsewhere, just needs a bit of out the box thinking by DTG.

DTG has yet to provide any documentation on the feature :(
We attempted to implement it a while back and al the testers hated it so it was removed again. Assistance with implementing it would be highly welcome.

And MBTA which released in December?
And the F59 which released in the last couple weeks?

I mean I already pointed out a pack coming out for Cajon Pass.
Saying it's all about Germany makes no sense because I only see ONE German route on it.
To be fair, if you want to focus only on routes...there's only ONE British route too (Cardiff)

The rest is released already or are rolling stock using existing routes.

There are no routes with Thomas, Athena, Cargo Vol 3, the Class 86, Class 420, etc

So you have 3 routes... one British, one German, one Dutch

Although that's not necessarily the whole year it's just the "spring roadmap."

Who knows what's coming out for TSW 6 bundles in July/August or beyond that.

As a random aside, I do think the CALM posters are a good thing. As someone who lost a friend recently to suicide, anything that even slightly encourages people to pick up the phone to talk is a positive.

I would really prefer Metro North but if it had to be out of the 3, I would vote another LIRR branch added into the current network

Politics aside (especially when it's unfounded guesswork), it IS about licensing, but not in a broader sense.
It's just that the existing licenses for stuff we keep seeing is already in place.
I don't see any NEW rail licenses anywhere in a long time.
Do another German route with the same DB content... okay... done.
Do more of the same British content with the same licenses... done. And with the "nationalization" there it'll be even easier to seek permission.
At one Once you lose a license though... kinda screwed.
I am hopeful though (even though I don't care for it) that having the DUTCH national railway license.
It's a VERY busy network, one of the most by volume in the EU I think... maybe the world?
I'm sure someone will fact check it.
Anyway, once you have a national rail license that opens up ALL lines in the Netherlands for exploration.

I'd like to hear more about the Japanese route that has somehow disappeared from the radar too.

    Make it more "world" maybe?

But again, I can see why from a logistics perspective they don't do that.
It's just a lot easier to travel to sites in UK or Germany with a quick day trip.
And in America it's a LOT easier to do urban areas where you can fly in, go a short route and then home.
It takes a lot more work to go to rural America and do freight routes in Kansas or Alaska.

This is where the Third Parties come in. Nothing stopping American companies (or African or Asian or South American) from doing projects in their own countries.

Problem is, no US 3rd party developer outside the group HIS gathered really wants to touch TSW. Most either stayed on other platforms where they are already established, or are doing their own thing.

IDK, seems like outside of either unique or historic scenery elements, rural areas "should" be easier to work with, as most of the work for the route would either be getting ground textures, rocks and flora correct, then having to build a large metropolitan area with a ton of buildings, streets, lights etc.....

it is more likely to be locos that are already in the game, just set back in time.

I'm glad you think so - it's been a passion project of mine to get these into game, and I'm glad we've been able to do so (should highlight, I've just been nagging - the wonderful Art team are the ones who have implemented them), so we can encourage conversations and talk more about mental health.

this and Stormlight Archive book series, which is one of the most popular fantasy series atm, and which extensively tackles mental health issues (among many others)... glad that sth like this makes it into my fav game :)

damn, this discussion got me inspired... if I am not completely dead when I get home from work, I might do a mental health awareness livery for some loco I like... maybe F125 or sth :)

Crazy, 2 years after release and this is still an issue. Unreal. NYT needs some serious attention
