Again another patch but again no patch for these blurry textures! When is this patch coming? I wanna have some answers. Why does this take so long and why don't we at least get some updates on it? Thanks!
Because it's not an easy fix and not something they can just magically fix in 1 single patch. The hardware can also be a limitation.
They are unable to fix is the only reasonable answer. The same is with LOD, z-fighting, poping sound on xbox...
Yes but they already announced a possible patch to performance optimisations in one of the older roadmaps but since that nothing was coming. And they don't give news about how they are working on it at the moment.
Finding areas where performance is weak takes time, don't expect it to come straight away because it takes time to actually figure out the problem and sort it out.
Yes, they are fixing it six months after release. I don't believe it's about hardware performance. Cyberpunk 2077 also had big problems at release, but the developers admitted the error and fixed and improved the game perfectly. DTG did not fix anything. Textures are still blurry and there is a lot of silence from DTG. I am their very dissatisfied customer and I will definitely not buy any product from DTG until the appropriate fixes are released.
We shouldn’t be making excuses for DTG not understanding their own code. Unless of course the original programmers have departed, didn’t leave any notes and they’re now being forced to outsource to Romania or India to get changes made. Sound is a mess on PC too, with the constant “squelching” making the game at best unenjoyable, or in the case of routes like WCMLOS, not actually wanting to play it. This is entirely on DTG and their lackadaisical approach to the core game. They ought to know what broke it and how to fix it. Been playing several other games recently, Snowrunner, Forza 4 etc. and none have this pathetic glitching of the sound output.
Completely agree Vern. This isn't some nitpicking about trees being the wrong colour, or that bridge isn't 100% accurate (although I understand this is important to some people) But, things like sound and performance, really are fundamental to any game.
Maybe with the recent exit of Jon Rissik from Dovetail Games there have also been other people leave the business which is pushing the ridiculous release targets beyond reality, which accounts for seeing DLC being released officially as "unfinished" and bug fixes rolling over month after month. I also note that recently Matt's role has been more specific as Executive Producer "Of Trains" with another yet unnamed Executive Producer presumably responsible for none train related activity.
DTG are as slow to update their website as they are the game it seems... https://dovetailgames.com/our-people/jon-rissik
